Solved oracle connection problem ORA-12569: TNS:packet checksum failure Posted on 2004-04-14 Oracle Database 4 Verified Solutions 7 Comments 23,039 Views Last Modified: 2011-08-18 We have someone outside our network trying to make a connection to our oracle database He gets the "ORA-12569: TNS:packet checksum failure" error message. Any idea what could be causing this error? A google search gave me this result... "ORA-12569: TNS:packet checksum failure Cause: The data received is not the same as the data sent. Action: Attempt the transaction again. If the error is persistent, turn on tracing and reexecute the operation" I don't understand what they want me to do here... Also, could this have anything to do with our firewall...I opened up the firewall to the ip addresses of the person making the connection and he is able to ping the server, but when he tries to make the oracle connection, he gets that error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated. following error. Each time IclickedtheOKbutton the system was showing a message saying "Not connected to oracle", and i had to connect to the database again. Later on after searching the net i have found that the main problem was in oracle's port number. My port number was the default 1521. So, i just created a new LISTENER with a new port number other than the default one(1521). and guess what, the problem was resolved. I had to change my tns entry using which i was connecting to the database. thats all. thanks for reading this article. have a good day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post Maker - Muhammad Zakir Hossain at 12:12 PM Reactions: Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20953937/oracle-connection-problem-ORA-12569-TNS-packet-checksum-failure.html to Pinterest Labels: ORA-12569: TNS:packet checksum failure Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) Total Pageviews Subscribe To Posts Atom Posts Comments Atom Comments About Me Muhammad Zakir Hossain View my complete profile Followers Blog Archive ► 2015 (1) ► Apr 2015 (1) ► 2014 (3) ► Nov 2014 (1) ► Sep 2014 (1) ► Apr 2014 (1) ► 2013 (5) ► Dec 2013 (1) ► Sep 2013 (1) ► Jul 2013 (1) ► Jan http://a2zakir.blogspot.com/2012/04/solution-to-ora-12569-tnspacket.html 2013 (2) ▼ 2012 (50) ► Dec 2012 (1) ► Oct 2012 (1) ► Aug 2012 (1) ► Jul 2012 (2) ► Jun 2012 (6) ► May 2012 (8) ▼ Apr 2012 (8) Creating and Assigning User Profile in Oracle Sessions that are blocked or blocking other sessio...
