Error detected, but pc runs fine - 12-31-2008, 07:15 | posts: 46 | Location: NJ Hey, i just added a new mobo, ram and cpu to my pc and it runs fine but i get this error everytime it boots, it goes something like this: DIMM(s) checksum error detected, press F1 to continue and when i press F1, the computer runs as if there was no error at all. it's so confusing, ive switched up my ram into different slots, used one stick, switched the battery on the mobo, you name it; its not like my computer acts faulty, i just dont want the error to show up! heres the specs: Foxconn A7GM-S AM2+ mobtherboard AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz Socket AM2+ G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Thanks for any info B@ckStabb3r^ View Public Profile Find all posts by B@ckStabb3r^ (#2) Decane Ancient Guru Videocard: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Processor: Intel C2Q Q6600 Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R F10 Memory: Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2 Soundcard: ALC889A | Sennheiser HD25 PSU: Corsair TX650W 12-31-2008, 08:41 | posts: 5,144 | Location: England (/Finland) Have you tested that PC with Prime95/SuperPI/Memtest86 to make sure that the error isn't genuine? If not, I suggest you do that first. If you have, and the error occurs even with just 1 stick (make sure you test both), you might want to flash your mobo bios with a newer revision, as it might be that those sticks are, for one reason or another, not supported by your bios by default. Are you sure the motherboard only has two DIMM slots? The above output indicates it has two DIMMs per channel, and there are two channels. Anyways, does this also mean that your computer is working fine (aside from this error message)? –Breakthrough May 23 '13 at 19:40 Yes my computer is working fine. As for the slots I am not very sure but I found only two of them when I opened the cpu cabinet. –AniketAman May 28 '13 at 7:57 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted If you need to set the correct time (and date?) every time you boot up your computer, that is a strong hint, that the CMOS battery needs replacement.
