This utility has been developed to analyze connections between kaspersky agent installed but not running the Network Agent and the Administration Server. The utility should be run on problematic computers from the Network Agent setup directory (C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\NetworkAgent 8) under a local administrator account. It is recommended to save its results into a log file.A connection may fail due to one of the following reasons: There is no Network Agent installed on the client computer. An incorrect Administration Server address or port was specified during the local installation of the Network Agent on the client computer. the Administration Server? Back to "Host Management" 2013 Mar 11 ID: 7493 The following issues may occur if Network Agent cannot establish a connection with http://support.kaspersky.com/us/3250 then Administration Server: policies cannot be applied to client computers; manual synchronization with client computers cannot be performed; a client computer icon is inactive ("pale") in the Administration Console; the Server connection field displays an incorrect date or time (15-30 minutes difference), while the workstation is actually turned on. You can try to discover the problem using the utility klnagchk.exe. The http://support.kaspersky.com/us/7493 utility is designed to analyze connections between Network Agent and Administration Server. The utility must be run by an account having local administrator permissions from the Network Agent installation folder (by default, C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\NetworkAgent8). It is recommended to save the utility execution results in a log file.Connection problems can have different origins: Network Agent is not installed on the problem client computer. Network Agent was installed on the problem client computer locally, or an icorrect Administration Server address/port was indicated when installing the Network Agent. The Kaspersky Network Agent service is not running on the problem client computer. The Kaspersky Security Center Administration server service is not running on the Administration Server. There is more than one workstation with the same name in the network, and a wrong one was drag-and-dropped into the administration group. Try to find computers having the same name in the network. Right-click the Administration Server node and select Search. Then enter the name with an asterisk (e.g. COMPUTER*). The problem computer is already connected to another Administration Server in the same Windows n
standing, the major things to look out for include: The Presentation Server going downThe Presentation Server being up, but the BI Server has gone downThe Scheduler is down or hasn't actually been http://www.rittmanmead.com/blog/2009/05/troubleshooting-obiee-connectivity-and-server-issues/ configured properlyThe J2EE Application Server is down whilst the OBIEE components are upThe Java https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee692772.aspx Host server is down (and what does this affect?)All of the OBIEE components are up including the J2EE server, but the source database is downAll of the above, but this time Essbase is downIf you're an administrator, what is the impact of these parts of the system failing (we'll ignore clustering for now), and if they connection failed are down how can you find out what's wrong? Starting with the Presentation Server, in theory it shouldn't crash by itself but I've seen this happen when, for example, there is a bug in the Presentation Server code that caused a segfault when a pivot table contained too many cells. In general though, problems with the Presentation Server are generally because the process isn't actually running, and when running with connection failed physical WebLogic as the J2EE Application Server users will get a message like the one below if they try and connect when the Presentation Server service isn't running: This error is caused by the J2EE Presentation Services plug-in not being able to communicate with the Presentation Services itself. If Presentation Services is running on a Windows box, a quick check in the Windows Services applet will show if the service is running OK, and as we can see in the screenshot below it's actually down. So why has it gone down? The best places to check are the log file at
$ORACLEBIDATA/web/log/sawlog0.logif the Presentation Server was up at one point but then crashed or closed down for some reason, or the Windows Event Viewer (System Log) if the service won't actually start in the first place. Unfortunately the messages in the System Log don't really tell you what the problem is (the error above was actually caused by a developer making changes in the instanceconfig.xml file but entering the details incorrectly, which stops the Presentation Server service from actually starting) but at least if you try and restart the service and find that it won't actually start, you can probably assume it's due to a change in one of tMicrosoft Tech Companion App Microsoft Technical Communities Microsoft Virtual Academy Script Center Server and Tools Blogs TechNet Blogs TechNet Flash Newsletter TechNet Gallery TechNet Library TechNet Magazine TechNet Subscriptions TechNet Video TechNet Wiki Windows Sysinternals Virtual Labs Solutions Networking Cloud and Datacenter Security Virtualization Downloads Updates Service Packs Security Bulletins Windows Update Trials Windows Server 2012 R2 System Center 2012 R2 Microsoft SQL Server 2014 SP1 Windows 8.1 Enterprise See all trials » Related Sites Microsoft Download Center TechNet Evaluation Center Drivers Windows Sysinternals TechNet Gallery Training Training Expert-led, virtual classes Training Catalog Class Locator Microsoft Virtual Academy Free Windows Server 2012 courses Free Windows 8 courses SQL Server training Microsoft Official Courses On-Demand Certifications Certification overview MCSA: Windows 10 Windows Server Certification (MCSE) Private Cloud Certification (MCSE) SQL Server Certification (MCSE) Other resources TechNet Events Second shot for certification Born To Learn blog Find technical communities in your area Support Support options For business For developers For IT professionals For technical support Support offerings More support Microsoft Premier Online TechNet Forums MSDN Forums Security Bulletins & Advisories Not an IT pro?
