I would suggest you use the ip, or, just the main domain name in your ftp client for connecting, as the ftp. is pointing to another server. Need help with your server? PM ME! is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing access to the network." It doesn't prompt me for my password as it should. I have tried with FTP, FTP-SSL and SFTP and I always get this message, with no prompt for including the password. The https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/problem-with-ftp-connections.114077/ network I'm on doesn't have firewalls that I know of, as it suggests in this warning message. I've searched online but it doesn't seem to be a common problem. I don't know where to input my password! jared_smith88 2014-12-31 21:04:13 UTC #2 saranataliac: giovinoinc.com that websites DNS does not resolve. That's the issue. It technically does not exist and so cyberduck as well as the browser http://community.onemonth.com/t/cyberduck-doesnt-prompt-for-password-sftp-connection-fails/1740 cannot resolve it. Even a trace route from my command line returns unknown host. You either need to use and IP address or a valid domain. michael_a_hinckley 2015-01-11 14:51:07 UTC #3 I'm having the same exact issue. I purchased my domain on Gator Host as instructed. Is there a wait period before the domain becomes "active" or "usable"? jared_smith88 2015-01-11 19:41:51 UTC #4 Not usually, but the domain can take as much as 24 hrs to propagate across the globe. Basically when you access a domain you hop through 5-20 servers searching for the quickest route from your current location. Each one of those servers need to know about that DNS entry and there are hundreds of thousands of these servers spear world wide., But that might not be the issue. So if it doesn't resolve wishing 1 day, post here I can help you diagnose. aguilar_daniel 2015-01-13 20:53:55 UTC #5 @saranataliac, @michael_a_hinckley I had the same problem for several days, use PORT: 2222 (SFTP) . It took me so long to find this out. Home Categories FAQ/Guidelines Terms of Service Privacy Policy Powered by Discourse, best viewed with JavaScript enabled Back to Courses

Chrome browser if you are using a broadband connection. This problem often occurs when your internet connection is not properly working or it could arise when the DNS server is no longer responding. This guide will show you how to fix DNS Lookup Failed error in windows XP, 7, 8 and 10 computers easily. However, to fix the problem, you may have to try several things. Just follow the fixes given below in chronological order. Try the methods one after another. Fix 1: Flush DNS Windows and other operating systems store all their DNS data in the cache. The essence of this storage is to facilitate the connection. Your DNS provider is always queried any time a connection attempt is made, especially when the information needed was not available. The DNS cache also has a privacy implication. The cache contains information from websites you have visited before. When you flush the cache, you remove all the entries contained in it. Flushing the DNS cache is not difficult. It can be flushed through the commands line. The simplest way you can do this is by pressing Windows Key + R, and then type cmd, and hit the enter button. A black window will popup. Write ipconfig /flushdns in that window and press enter. This ensures that all the records in the DNS cache have been removed which could solve chrome connection problem. Fix 2: Change DNS Server Addresses If the method given above doesn't work, then what you have to do is change your computers’ DNS server address; this address is given to your computer automatically.
