on Server side and from the client side I connect to this IP on the port 50000. I build and run the server side application and then try to connect to it by running a client side application. One doubt about server side, server side application returns before I start the client side application, so should I keep it running (while(1);) so that I can connect to it from the client side? What's going wrong am I forgetting something here? Help! I'm pasting the very slightly modified (IP and port numbers are different) Beej's C code for Server side and Client side here: Server.c /* ** server.c */ #include

The message 'Connection Refused' has two main causes: Nothing is listening on the IP:Port you are trying to connect to. The port is blocked by a firewall. No process is listening. This is by far the most common reason for the message. To determine if this is the problem, on the remote system run netstat or ss1 e.g. if you are expecting a process to be listening on port 22222 sudo netstat -tnlp | grep :22222 or ss -tnlp | grep :22222 For OSX a suitable command is sudo netstat -tnlp tcp | grep '\.80 ' If nothing is listening then the above will produce no output. If you see some output then confirm that it's what you expect then see the firewall section below. If you don't have access to the remote system and want to confirm the problem before reporting it to the relevant administrators you can use tcpdump (wireshark or similar). When a connection is attempted to an IP:port where nothing is listening, the response from the remote system to the initial SYN packet is a packet with the flags RST,ACK set. This closes the connection and causes the Connection Refused message e.g. $ sudo tcpdump -n host 192.0.2.1 and port 22222 tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode listening on enp14s0, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 262144 b

I'm making SSH connections to it from my PC via Putty. The problem is, sometimes I'm able to login seamlessly. However, sometimes it gives me an error like this: Network error: Connection refused. Then, I dont't change anything, try to login a few times more, wait a while and try again. Sometimes I can log in, sometimes I cannot. It seems pretty random to me. What can I do to solve this? Edit: And Sometimes, Putty gives Network error: Software caused connection abort error after displaying login as: text. In order to retrieve this data, the Enterprise Console must establish a connection to the PRTG Web Server. If you open the PRTG Enterprise Console and see a "socket error number 10061", this means that your Enterprise Console was not able to connect to the PRTG Web Server running on the PRTG Core Server. There can be several reasons for this. If you can still log into the PRTG Web Interface but get this error message using the Enterprise Console, the most common matter is non-matching settings of Web Server and Enterprise Console. Step 1: Viewing the Enterprise Console Settings From the Windows Start Menu, open the PRTG Enterprise Console application. From the menu, select File | Manage PRTG Server Connections. The Devices overview appears. On the left side, click on PRTG Server Connections. On the right side, select a server entry and click on the edit Edit button (the wrench symbol). You see the settings the Enterprise Console uses to co
