Do you have portmap, nfsd, mountd, statd, etc running on the server? mountd and statd on the client? In /etc/hosts.allow, you need to specify what machines can access these specific programs. I have setup a new server in the lab and I have connected one external storage to this server. I want to export this filesystem as NFS to other servers. I have followed all the instruction in this website NFS HOWTO: Setting up a NFS server Now I am not able to mount the nfs system on client, it throwing this error mount: mount to NFS server 'msvlsi65.ecen.okstate.edu' failed: System Error: Connection refused. I have disabled firewall in the server and I have checked the hosts.allow and also hosts.deny. Any suggestions from your side would be great. For further details, here is the output of rpcinfo -p 100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper 100005 1 udp 32775 mountd 100005 1 tcp 52452 mountd 100005 2 udp 32775 mountd 100005 2 tcp 52452 mountd 100005 3 udp 32775 mountd 100005 3 tcp 52452 mountd 100021 1 udp 32776 nlockmgr 100021 3 udp 32776 nlockmgr 100021 4 udp 32776 nlockmgr 100003 2 udp 2049 nfs 100003 3 udp 2049 nfs 100003 4 udp 2049 nfs 100021 1 tcp 59669 nlockmgr 100021 3 tcp 59669 nlockmgr 100021 4 tcp 59669 nlockmgr 100003 2 tcp 2049 nfs 100003 3 tcp 2049 nfs 100003 4 tcp 2049 nfs 100024 1 udp 32777 status 100024 1 tcp 32939 status There were 2 portmapper that was running previously, one UDP and one tcp. But after the reboot udp is missing. I tried to restart the service, but no luck. Do you think this may be the problem or something else. Also ping is working absolutely fine. I can login through ssh from one to another. -- Thanks, Giridhar Reply With Quote 26-Sep-2011,12:16 #2
