I restarted Ubuntu and now I can't SSH on port 22 from my Windows machine on the same network with PuTTY. The following message appears: Now this is fairly common as I've seen from the dozens of sites that mention it (even here on Ubuntu's forums, but I haven't found the solution in them yet). What I've tried: 1). restart ssh service: Code: /etc/init.d/ssh restart I tried the same thing with sshd but that doesn't exist on my system and can't be located with apt-get -- just mentioning that because I've seen it on a few of the forums I've read so far. 2). make sure port 22 is open in firewall. Code: iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT 3). restarting, and that obviously hasn't worked. Please let me know if you'd like me to post the output from various commands, will do so promptly. Thank you for your time, Brandon Doyle Adv Reply Reply With Quote August 12th, 2015 #2 SeijiSensei View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Mononoke Join Date Nov 2008 Location Metro Boston Beans 11,739 DistroKubuntu 14.04 Tru
