Got an AX650 with an Asus P8Z77-V and an 3570K. System was built in early July and has been running fine. No over clock at this cpu over voltage error asus time. Booted up today and got an error that 5V was too high. PC rebooted. Went into the BIOS and 5V in voltage monitoring section was showing around 5.5v in red. As I watched, it climbed to over 6v and the PC rebooted again. Tried resetting BIOS to defaults, no good. Checked all cabling, everything seems fine. Can't get the PC to stay up for more than 30 seconds. Is this a bad PSU? It was fine yesterday. Also tried disabling Asus surge protection and 5v monitoring. Still rebooting. Is that a screen from your BIOS or is it third-party monitoring software? If that's accurate, you need to change your PSU immediately. However, if that's third-party software you might be ok. My 12V registers at nearly 15V in some hardware monitors but looks fine in BIOS. #2 BigChickenJim, Aug 5, 2013 vjcool007 Member Joined: Aug 5, https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/5v-voltage-showing-very-high.2334874/ 2013 Messages: 34 Likes Received: 0 Ya its from bios only...when i boot into os and try to do any task it restarts my pc even at 60 temp of cpu... #3 vjcool007, Aug 5, 2013 philipma1957 Golden Member Joined: Jan 8, 2012 Messages: 1,712 Likes Received: 0 vjcool007 said: ↑ Ya its from bios only...when i boot into os and try to do any task it restarts my pc even at 60 temp of cpu...Click to expand... yeah consider getting a psu. what is the current psu in the pc. #4 philipma1957, Aug 5, 2013 BigChickenJim Senior member Joined: Jul 1, 2013 Messages: 239 Likes Received: 0 vjcool007 said: ↑ Ya its from bios only...when i boot into os and try to do any task it restarts my pc even at 60 temp of cpu...Click to expand... Don't boot your PC again. That voltage is way too high. It's definitely conceivable that it could damage something. Buy a new PSU ASAP. #5 BigChickenJim, Aug 5, 2013 vjcool007 Member Joined: Aug 5, 2013 Messages: 34 Likes Received: 0 philipma1957 said: ↑ yeah consider getting a psu. what is the c

An easy check would be to use a voltmeter to check the 5V line. Seasonic is a great company, but that doesn't mean every PSU is perfect. The only other way I could see a way to raise the 5V line would be
