Reset your CMOS with jumper, button(if one), or by removing the button battery (power disconnected), then pressing the power button for a few seconds (see manual). Then go to BIOS set up and 'Load Optimal Settings' or 'Load Defaults' save and exit. If you were trying to overclock, then learn what you are doing before proceeding since OverVolting is to be done very carefully. If you need more help, please give important details you are missing. System, MB model, exact RAM, power supply make/model, etc.You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane. This site is about helping people, lets keep it that way. As the title states I get an error on boot that says CPU Over Voltage Error and Power Supply Surges Detected. In the BIOS it the CPU Voltages are in the red. Their values are in the image below.I tried taking out the CMOS battery and putting that back in, along with a few other work arounds but with no luck. Hopefully you can assist me in solving this problem. Thanks ahead of time for your assistance. Here are the computer specs, it was recently built probably about 6 months ago.CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 Haswell Quad-Core 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo)Motherboard: ASUS B85-PLUS LGA 1150 Intel B85 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOSGPU: A GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 FTW w/ ACX Cooler Video CardRAM: HyperX Fury Black Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3HDD: Western Digital Blu

It says CPU Over Voltage Error, Press F1 to Run Setup. This takes me to the BIOS, here I press F5, that sets everything to default, the pc restarts and cpu over the error is still there until I just simply press Esc in the BIOS and Windows will start. I'm not a tech savvy so I didn't change anything in the bios previously, however, when I checked the Advanced mode there I found an interesting thing: CPU Input Voltage is at 3,472 V and the text is red so I guess that is bad. cpu over voltage PC specs: Asus B85M-G i5 4570S at 2,9 Ghz + CM Hyper 103 cpu cooler Hyper-X 8 Gb DDR3 1333 Mhz RAM GTX 750 Ti 2 Gb DDR5 CM 500W PSU CPU Over Voltage Error: imgur.com/qwIRdvg CPU Input Voltage: imgur.com/tfgHKU2 This thing really bothers me, any piece of advice is greatly appreciated! About 380C where as, it was usually about 330C.All fans working.I rebooted. On bootup, I got the "CPU overvoltage Error", press F1 to continue. If I continue, the PC works fine, except that the cpu temperature is higher as I mentioned above. Now, ever after, on every boot up, I get the CPU over voltage error.Note that I have not made *any* changes in the bios, motherboard or any software recently. I have *not* attempted any overclocking. This problem more or less suddenly appeared.(I mention this because when I searched for the cpu overvoltage error" in this forum over clocking was mentioned, which I have not done). On booting I entered the bios setup and checked the CPU voltages indicated:VCORE = 1.632V (in red)3.3V = 3.285V = 5.01712V = 12.144CPU temp = 500CCPU fan = 2636CPU I am using is Intel P4 Dual core 2GHz E2180OS am using is Vista.Am posting this from another computer as am afraid to run the computer with the problem incase cpu or motherboard may get damaged. How do I set about resolving this problem ?VCORE seems to be too high. What would be causing this sudden cpu over voltage error ?Thank you.
