Move the CLRTC jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 for about a minute, then switch it back. If it's still bad, Asus's newest BIOS would likely be the best idea. IF if is current, I would still install it again ( use the USB mode - EZ Flash - simply put the newest unzipped Bios on the USB stick - restart and choose the file in Tools > EZ flash and it does the rest ). I hope you are not running the stock cooler, not that it would run that hot, but $30 to $40 will get you something significantly better! Antec 1000W P/S | Samsung 24\" Last night My daughter was on the PC and she got a black screen and the message in the title on a Mobo screen when I pushed F1 to continue windows tried to boot but froze/flashed and got the same message. After that I did access the bios and my cpu temp was 100c/250f so I shut it all down for a couple of hours. When I rebooted I didnt recieve the message anymore but it ask me for the "windows didnt shut down properly safe mode stuff" and I start normally and it cycles to the XP screen flashes and goes back to the safe mode screen. Bottom line is I cant get XP pro to boot and I have no messages as to why. Thanks in advance. Is your PC caked in dust is the cpu fan spinning and all that? Discussion in 'Intel Processors' started by sblantipodi, Oct 9, 2014. Oct 9, 2014 #1 sblantipodi 2[H]4U Messages: 3,290 Joined: Aug 29, 2010 Hi, I'm using a 5930K at 4.2GHz 1.298V. When I run syntethics like AIDA only FPU or prime my CPU never goes over 82c on the hottest core. If I run prime for a while and than I reboot, bios beeps a lot and than says CPU overtemperature. What does it means? Why it says nothing when I'm on windows and the synthetics works without problem and than when I reboot bios give me the overtemperature error? Thanks. sblantipodi, Oct 9, 2014 sblantipodi, Oct 9, 2014 #1 Oct 9, 2014 #2 Riddlinkidstoner [H]ardness Supreme Messages: 4,144 Joined: Aug 12, 2006 Have you checked to see if there is a CPU temp warning in the bios? There is only the CPU over temperature error that happen on a reboot after prime. Once the error is given, if I press F1 as suggested I enter the BIOS and the temperature are completely normal. sblantipodi, Oct 9, 2014 sblantipodi, Oct 9, 2014 #3 Oct 9, 2014 #4 Prod1702 [H]Lite Messages: 119 Joined: Jan 13, 2005 isn't 82c kinda high?
