System halted" It will boot, and say something about CMOS being corrupt, hit F2 to restore default values and continue. If I hit F1 and do _ANYTHING_ in the BIOS, I http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?206118-ASUS-P5K-Deluxe-boot-failure-quot-Fatal-error-System-halted-quot won't be able to get it to boot. It will give the following error.: CPU overvoltage error CPU fan error Chassis intruded ! Fatal error. System halted I tried updating the BIOS. I tried clearing CMOS for 8 hours with the PSU off, and no dice. I can only get it to boot by chance, with my 512 MB stick of DDR667 memory in the third slot. But 70% of the time it doesn't even boot with memory in this slot. It automatically tries to boot off of a different hard drive unless I set it differently in the BIOS - so aside from not being able to use other RAM sticks that require I set 2.1v in the BIOS, I can't even have other hard drives plugged in. and the fact that it only boots up half the time adds insult to injury. Once I GET into windows, I can run dual orthos and memtest 'til the cows come home, but just getting it to boot up is damn near impossible. The mobo is kept cool with nice fans and the cpu/gpu are watercooled. What is wrong with this thing? Thank you, Thasp Last edited by Thasp; 10-28-2008 at 09:05 PM.
