About 380C where as, it was usually about 330C.All cpu over fans working.I rebooted. On bootup, I got the "CPU overvoltage Error", press F1 to continue. If I continue, the PC works fine, except that the cpu temperature is higher as I mentioned above. Now, ever after, on every boot up, I get the CPU over voltage error.Note that I have not made *any* changes in the bios, motherboard or any software recently. I have *not* attempted any overclocking. This problem more or cpu over voltage less suddenly appeared.(I mention this because when I searched for the cpu overvoltage error" in this forum over clocking was mentioned, which I have not done). On booting I entered the bios setup and checked the CPU voltages indicated:VCORE = 1.632V (in red)3.3V = 3.285V = 5.01712V = 12.144CPU temp = 500CCPU fan = 2636CPU I am using is Intel P4 Dual core 2GHz E2180OS am using is Vista.Am posting this from another computer as am afraid to run the computer with the problem incase cpu or motherboard may get damaged. How do I set about resolving this problem ?VCORE seems to be too high. What would be causing this sudden cpu over voltage error ?Thank you. The PC doesn't currently have an OS installed but the hardware details are; Asus P5P43TD mobo Dual Core E6500 2.9Ghz CPU 2 x 2Gb DDR3 RAM 1 x PCI/E graphics card 1 x 500Gb SATA HDD So far, I have; 1) reseated all components 2) Upgraded the BIOS to the latest version 3) Swapped out the graphics card 4) Swapped out the PSU On checking the BIOS monitoring application when booting the machine, the VCORE is shown in red at 0.844v. This fluctuates slightly but not by much. I can't fine anywhere in the BIOS settings to change the voltage for the CPU, apart from some settings for overclocking, which I don't want to do. Any ideas anyone 0 Question by:Grape65 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution byGrape65 Hi all, Sorry for the delay in supplying an update. Not quite sure what to do with the points, as the outcome is that the Mothernoard and CPU were sent back to the supplier.
