Solved VB PROGRAM USING CRYSTAL REPORTS GETTING FILE I/O AND DISK ERRORS Posted on 2002-02-05 memory full error in crystal report Crystal Reports 1 Verified Solution 9 Comments 1,096 Views Last Modified: 2012-08-14 Hello all. I have a program that sends multiple Crystal reports out via fax. The program works fine for a while then all of a sudden the program stops running and gets both File I/O error and Disk Full on the creation of a new RTF file. The program loops through and creates a new file then faxes it then I delete the file. Any suggestions to troubleshoot this issue? Space may be low. Try doing a surface testing + defragmentation on your disk 0 LVL 100 Overall: Level 100 Crystal Reports 94 Message Active today Expert Comment by:mlmcc2002-02-06 Whe you delete the file do you also ensure it is not in the recycle bin? Just deleting the file doesn't free up the disk space you must also delete it from the recycle bin. mlmcc 0 Message Author Comment by:InvisibleMan2002-02-06 Hello all. Thanks for your responses. The solution is designed with MS Visual Studio 2010 using Crystal Report version 13.0 for VS. At runtime, we are using https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20263549/VB-PROGRAM-USING-CRYSTAL-REPORTS-GETTING-FILE-I-O-AND-DISK-ERRORS.html Crystal Runtime version 13.0.1 .net redistributable files (both 32bit and 64bit) and Crystal 2011 layouts. The web service runs in IIS 7.0 server. The issue we have is that we get an “Error in File

N11689 (Programmer) (OP) 12 Nov 03 14:19 A user of ours is sporadically receiving the error message 'Error In Crystal Report: Memory full.' when running one of our distributed crystal reports in a runtime environment. We have an application that uses a Visual Basic program to generate our reports. We are using Crystal 9.I have seen many Memory Full errors on the Crystal websites and in this tech tips area, but nothing specifically seems to apply to the error we are receiving.I need some help on this, and will be glad to provide you more information as needed. CR knowledge base has yielded no information: I have noticed that if you export a report to a floppy (and presumably a hard-disk) that has insufficient disk-space available, you do not receive any error message. I would hope to get a run-time error (in my vb code) that says something along the lines of "disk full" so i can trap for this and tell the user to insert a different disk. What happens is that the export appears to work (with no error being returned), but the file on the floppy is truncated (and may even be 0 bytes in length if the floppy was totally full at the time of the export). This of course means that the disk file cannot be read. I have tried this by using Visual Basic 5 with both the Crystal Report OCX and by using Print Engine API calls, and also the same thing happens if I use the Crystal Report Designer! A colleague of mine has also tried the same operations with the same result. Can someone tell me: 1) Have they had the same problem? 2) Is there any obvious workaround? 3) Am I missimg some setting or property that controls thios behaviour Any help would be greatly appreciated Mon, 05 Nov 2001 03:00:00 GMT Page 1 of 1 [ 1 post ] Relevant Pages 1.
