Jun 26, 2013 06:17 PM|forbesn|LINK I am in the process of migrating all of my webs from Windows Server 2003 running IIS 6 to Windows Server 2008R2 running IIS 7.5. I have an Extranet site that has crystal report error 20525 many subwebs (applications). One of these applications is an app ceated in Visual Studio .NET 2008 using the embeded crystal reports. (It works fine on my Windows 2003 server.) The reports connect to an Oracle Database Server. I get the following error: Error in File C:\Windows\TEMP\temp_09e242b5-a913-44c0-9482-cda6ba347434 {E8899F5E-FF93-492F-AE83-6FA092EF452E}.rpt: Access to report file denied. Another program may be using it. "Network Service" and the account used for "Physical Path Credentials" on the IIS app has modify access to C:\Windows\Temp, the application folder, and the folder I'm trying to export the PDF's to. All of these folders are on the local server but I am using a domain account. I've tried enabling 32 bit applications on the IIS web site (I can't find where that is at right now but I know I did find it and tried that earlier.) I also tried recompiling the app for 32 bit instead of any and redeployed. So how do I make this work? Reply Pengzhen Son... 4342 Posts Microsoft Re: Crystal Reports App is returning "Access to

Another program may be using it." This is a very misleading error message, and usually has nothing to do with another program. The actual filename will differ based on your configuration, but the entire error message will be the same, similar to what's shown below. Usually, the ASPNET user does not have write permission granted to it, and especially not on the root directory. The solution in this case was to change the output directory to a subfolder of the web root, and grant ASPNET Modify permissions on that folder. If you're using Windows Server 2003, you need to grant permissions to Network Service, not ASPNET. If you have configured your application to run as a user other than ASPNET, you need to make sure that user has the permissions described above. On Windows Server 2003, you need to grant permissions to NetworkService user, not ASPNET. The .NET Framework on Win2K3 uses NetworkService, while on Win2K, ASPNET. provide write permission on c:\windows\temp Dot forgot to restart IIS after setting permissions on folder: go to run type iisreset and press enter. Crystal Reports may generate some temporary files (‘*.tmp', ‘*.rpt') in a temp folder (typically the c:\windows\temp folder or you temp folder in "Local Settings"). This is not a big deal because these files are quite small (between 0k and 200k for the ones I have seen during my investigations) but it can be a potential problems as they are very numerous (till 10 for a single export) and contains some potentially sensitive information (some data of your exports). I have seen that these files are generated by the following methods: SetDataSource ExportToStream How to correct this problem ? Be sure to call the "Close()" method on your report object. This will automatically delete all the temporary generated files. In fact almost all of them as you wi

When I try to export to PDF, I get an error like this: "Error in File C:\DOCUME~1\MYPC\ASPNET\LOCALS~1\Temp\temp_1f2996d9-08d1-4cd3-894c-ca7853ad2cba.rpt: Operation not yet implemented" Im coding it just like in the book of Bischof: ___________________________________________________ CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions MyExportOptions = new ExportOptions();MyExportOptions.ExportFormatType = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat;CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportRequestContext MyExportRequestContext = new ExportRequestContext();MyExportRequestContext.ExportInfo = MyExportOptions;System.IO.Stream MyStream = null;MyStream = MyReport.FormatEngine.ExportToStream(MyExportRequestContext); ___________________________________________________ I checked for permissions of the ASPNET account but everything is OK, I even made this account member of the Administrators for a while. Is not a problem of the report I guess, since I even used a blank report. And three files are written to the intended location every time, so I think is not a matter of permissions. Ok, thanks a lot in advance for your answer and help. L. CR talks directly to the Adobe DLLs and they need to be compatible. In the past few years, Adobe has released so multiple versions of their Acrobat software (versions 6-8). It can be tricky.
