This means that if you design your report using Integrated Security, you must supply a domain user's credentials in code to log on to the SQL Server (you can change the user, but it must be a domain account). If you will be using a SQL Server account in production, it is very important that you use this account's credentials to connect to the database during the design phase. The CR designer caches database connection information, so I havefound it best to completely delete all current connections andthen exit and reopen Visual Studio before designing my report. I could then make a fresh connection to the database using the credentials I wanted. You can check by right-clicking the connection in Server Explo

There can be a number of causes. If your report was crystal report error targeted to a specific database and then the database was changed without updated the report, this can cause it. It can also be caused by something in the query itself failing, such as if the report is based on a stored procedure that doesn't exist on the database against which the report is running. Try verifying the database for the report. share|improve this answer answered Dec 30 '08 at 17:02 Ryan Morlok 622510 1 Although this was not the resolution to my specific issue, I feel it is the most relevant to my question. –Joshua Drake Apr 16 '10 at 19:42 @Joshua Drake: what was the (re)solution of your problem?!? I'm facing the same error message and can't seem to find a solution for it... –marc_s Jul 26 '10 at 13:41 Unfortunately the report was rewritten, and in that process began to work again. I would recommend, in addition to all the answers on this page, that you make sure you have the latest service packs installed for Crystal. –Joshua Drake Aug 9 '10 at 13:15 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote As said this is a generic error, and like all such errors it's a very
the Driver and Application Posted on October 27, 2011February 5, 2013 by john.dacosta Did you create a DSN, but your application cannot access the DSN? I created a DSN, but could not connect via SSIS. It seems that the DSN I created was 64-bit, while the application I was using (SSIS) could only connect to 32-bit DSNs. After some research I have realized that there are two different ODBC Administrator runtimes on a 64-bit machine. The first ODBC Manager is used to manage 64-bit data sources, while the second is used to manage 32-bit data sources. If you are running a 32-bit Operating System, you will have only 32 bit drivers installed. If you are using a 64 bit machine, the default ODBC Manager will be for 64-bit data sources. Use this ODBC Manager to Review 64-Bit Data Source Names c:\windows\system32\odbcad32.exe Use this ODBC Manager to Review 32-Bit Data Source Names c:\windows\sysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
If you are trying to access a DSN in your application and receive the error "ERROR [IM014] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application" check to see if you have a DSN configured for the architecture of your application ( 32-bit / 64-bit ). I create my DSNs twice - once for 32 bit architecture and once for 64 bit architecture. My naming convention is as follows: DSN_NAME_64 created using c:\windows\system32\odbcad32.exe DSN_NAME_32 created using c:\windows\sysWOW64\odbcad32.exe Good Luck References: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms712362%28v=vs.85%29.aspx Like this:Like Loading...
