Reports - tables not found during VerifyDatabase June 18, 2011 Jeff Trotman Leave a comment Go to comments If you try to do a Verify Database on a Crystal report used by Dynamics SL, you may crystal report verify database not working get an error message like this: "The database table "GLTran" cannot be found. Proceed crystal reports verify database table cannot be found to remove this table from the report?" even though GLTran (or whatever table name is in the error message) is in database connector error crystal report the database. I have found this to be usually caused by Crystal using Fully Qualified table names. If you click "Show SQL Query" (or run a SQL Profiler trace while the report is running), you may database dll error crystal report see entries like "select * from databasename.dbo.GLTran", instead of "select * from GLTran". The databasename may be the name of the SQL Server used when the report was originally written, which is usually not a server on your network. In older versions of Crystal Reports, you could edit the SQL query in this dialog box to get rid of the database name, but in Crystal Reports 10, the SQL query dialog is

read-only. The way to do this in Crystal 10 was not intuitive to me, but here's what you can do. From the Database menu, choose Set Datasource Location. Click the Overridden Qualified Table Name line and a textbox will appear to the right. In that textbox, type the table name, just as it shows in the Table Name line. (Account in this example.) Do this for each table in the report and click Close. Putting a value in the Overridden Qualified Table Name textbox seems to tell Crystal to use what you typed there for the table name instead of the Fully Qualified table name. Save your changes and you should be able to Verify Database without getting the errors any more. Share this:EmailTwitterGoogleLike this:Like Loading... I guess your only option is to create create your reports.... One option is use the Set Table location in the Report Designer and for example if you are using ODBC originally then select OLE DB. If that works and you see the new fields then Set Location again back to ODBC and verify the new fields are still their. Then save the report, you may need to save the report using the SaveAs option so you don't overwrite the original or simply make a copy be for testing. What this should do is force the RPT file to update the info, since you are changing DB drivers. Create a new report, and then copy all of the objects over. My report's data source is tied to a .Net class from my project (i.e. Database Expert > Project Data > .NET Objects). I've updated my .Net class with an additional property that I would like to use in my report. When my report's data source is tied to a database table, I normally use the "Verify Database" feature which causes the Crystal Reports crystal report verify to see the additional fields in my table. However, I'm not sure how this is done with .Net objects. Here is what I am doing: I choose "Verify Database" A dialog titled "ADO.NET" appears and asks for a "File Path," "Class Name," and an option to "Use DataSet from Class." "Class Name" is pre-populated with the name of the .Net class that my report's data source is tied to. At this point, I'm not sure what to fill in for "File Path." Clicking "Finish" will bring up a dialog titled "Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer" that reads: "Logon failed. Details: crdb_adoplus: To access classes in your project at design-time, please build your project first, and then try again." (note: My project has already been built) What should I be doing? Not so exciting update: Just trying random things out, none of which are working. I pointed the "File Path" at the compiled project's xml and dll files in bin/debug, neither of which helped. For the xml file, I got a dialog called "Remove Table" that reads: "The database table '[NAME OF MY .NET OBJECT]" cannot be found. Proceed to remove this table from the report?" For the dll file, I got a dialog that read "Invalid Argument provided." .net visual-studio-2008 crystal-reports share|improve this question edited Mar 20 '15 at 5:02 J
