Resolution crystal report viewer load report failed The computer has to be configured to connect to the datasource referenced in the report. Setup the system the same way as the computer used to design the reports. Install the same database drivers (32-bit versions). Give them the same name. Your report files contain database references. of database driver, so guidelines are general. You have to setup the PC and database drivers the same way you would a system with full Crystal Reports. You must use a 32-bit version of the database driver The software works fine on 64-bit systems (using 32-bit database drivers) The 32-bit ODBC database driver is in this location on 64-bit systems: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe If using ODBC, the DSN must match the DSN hard coded inside the report file You must configure the database server to allow connections from the client PC. Many database servers will reject connections if their IP, PC, or username isn't explicitly allowed to connect; and they won't tell you why. If you get a connection error with "vendor database error" number, then that number is an error number from your specific database type. Search online for the cause of it. Getting a vendor error means that you are connecting to some database, but perhaps don't have permission to view a specific table or shared procedure. Setup the computer the same way as the machine that designed the reports; configure the database server to allow connections from the client PC (some databases have security configuration that has to be set for new clients). At my account there are 5 users who can successfully http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?754059-RESOLVED-Crystal-Report-loading-error-Logon-Failed install Crystal 2008 with click once. However one cannot. The user gets a error when the CAB attempts to register PrintReport.dll. To get around this problem, we downloaded the 2008 SP2 and installed it on that workstation. My app will now install. However, no reports will run. A "Logon Failed" crystal report error occurs. I have googled this error code and apparently it is the Crystal version of "check engine light on". Note that this does not occur on any of the other user installations at the site. Only for this user, on this machine. They have totally rebuilt the machine, reformated the drive and reinstalled Windows. For the love of god, does anyone have crystal report viewer a clue as to why one user in five cannot successfully logon to the database while running a report?! That is the reason for the logon error. Those can be controlled a variety of ways anymore so it is hard to suggest one thing. Still I would suggest you look there if you have had a successful install. If the user has been accessing the data all along then obviously what I just said may not the way to troubleshoot this out. Hope this may be of help Regards, John W. www.CustomReportWriters.net IP Logged JoerTX Newbie Joined: 25 Aug 2010 Location: United States Online Status: Offline Posts: 10 Posted: 26 Aug 2010 at 1:21pm This would be a reasonable conclusion to draw...except for the following 2facts. 1.The reports are run from within an application that already succ
