Crystal Reports Database Connector Error Cannot Obtain Error Message From Server
Oracle makes the data connection without any problems. I loaded Crystal Reports XI Professional, but it will not connect to the Oracle database. It keeps giving me the Unknown Database Connector error. Can anyone assist me with this problem? This is the final software package that is holding up the project. Thanks 12016Views Re: Unknown Database Connector Error using Crystal Report XI with unknown database connector error crystal reports 2011 Windows 7 Don Williams Aug 23, 2011 6:49 PM (in response to Pam Athens) Currently Being Moderated Hello,CR XI is not supported nor ever tested on Windows 7. CR XI R2 is and you can upgrade for free:http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreports/crxir2_sp4_full_bld_0-20008684.exehttp://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreports/CRYSTALREPORTS06_0-20008684.EXEUse you XI keycode to install it.Make sure the Oracle Client install is in the PATH statement and if you are using ODBC use Oracles Driver not Microsoft's ODBC Oracle client, it doesn't work because it only supports Oracle 7.Don Alert Moderator Like (0) Re: Unknown Database Connector Error using Crystal Report XI with Windows 7 Don Williams Aug 11, 2011 10:03 PM (in response to Don Williams) Currently Being Moderated And which SDK are you using? We create reports right out of crystal and the apps specialist runs them for the organization. Whenever I try to run a report or do a Database verify or Logon to the database I get the quite unhelpful "Unknown Database Connection Error " error message. The only option from here is to click OK. Oracle 10g is installed as Runtime and has 10.2.04 patch applied. Oracle path setting is correct and Oracle is working with an bespoke Oracle Application as well as http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13231688/crystal-reports-2008-unknown-database-connection-error-to-oracle-server SQLPlus TNSPing etc... There is some evidence of people having this problem around the web but no definite resolution. Does anyone here have any good suggestions? Have you turned on sqlnet client-side connection logging (in sqlnet.ora as I recall) to see if a connection attempt is being made? –David Aldridge Nov 5 '12 at 13:35 hi, you are correct the error is raised by Crystal. I have added the following to my sqlnet.ora file (shown in main question for clarity) but it doesn't create any trace info. Should I be adding some more lines –Purplemonkey Nov 5 '12 at 13:48 Sounds like Crystal isn't even finding the SQLNet installation. Crystal wouldn't be installed as a different user to the account you tested with, would it? No tricky spaces in the path at all? –David Aldridge Nov 5 '12 at 13:54 Crystal annoyingly insists on installing into \program files (x86)\... I've tried forcing to \progra
