How to Configure a Manually Installed System Center Essentials Agent http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb437257.aspx Hope it helps, Friday, November 21, 2008 10:10 AM Reply | Quote Moderator All replies 0 Sign in to vote Hi, Did you finish deploy the agents on the other computers? And how many computers? From the message, it seems that either the client or the server has run out of a resource (such as memory) while carrying out an operation. Try closing all applications that are currently not in used and try again. You may have to increase the amount of memory available to the client or server, or both. If this is not your scenario and you cannot deploy any agent, please ch

rights to start a service.Be sure that the user id you are using for the client is set up in the server's Administration Tools/User Manager display, and has enough rights. When the user is logged in, verify http://www.niakwa.com/instguid/nt/common_problems/user_rights.htm that on the server.Use DCOMCNFG on the server and clients. Make sure the 'Distributed COM' option under the 'Default Properties' tab is enabled.Check whether the server and clients are in the same domain or workgroup; if they are http://marc.info/?l=ms-dcom&m=103440425613883&w=2 not, the Windows security configuration issues will be much more complicated.Example 5.AInstalled on a Windows 2000 server and a Windows 2000 client. Tried to start the RunTime on the client, and got the following error message:NPLSecure error code dcom got 14Server win2k.local.test.Last DCOM error: access is denied.Make sure NPLsecure service is installed correctly. The Event Viewer system log on the client contained the following error message:Source: DCOMEvent ID: 10006Description: DCOM got error 'General access denied error' from the computer win2k.local.test when attempting to activate the server.DCOMCNFG was used on the client and server to confirm that the 'Distributed COM' option was enabled on both computers, and that the access and launch permissions for the NPLSecure service were correct. dcom got error The client was able to 'ping win2k.local.test' successfully.SolutionThe user's account was found to be in the Guest group, which had minimal access privileges. It was also found that the server was not in the same domain as the client, so the server could not authenticate the client's credentials within the domain. It checked the login name and password under which the user had logged onto the client, and these did not match any accounts on the server, so the server refused to grant access. The issue was resolved by setting up a user account on the server with the same name and password that were being used on the client, and moving the user to another group with sufficient access privileges to start the NPLSecure service. Alternatively, the server and/or client could have been reconfigured to put them in the same domain, allowing the server and client to share their credentials.Example 5.BWindows 2000 domain controller Does not have NPL installed on it.NT 4.0 server: NPL is installed on it Not a domain controller Does not log into the domain Is a member of a workgroupWindows 98 Workstation Logs into the domain Is also a member of the same workgroup as the NT 4.0 server. The user has the same user name for logging into the domain and the NT 4.0 server (where NPL is installed) but uses different
you have installed ?? DCOM and NT need at LEAST 32 Meg, more is MUCH better.. What other tasks are running on this box ?? It is possible that other background tasks are consuming system resourses, not allowing DCOM to work. >Server is NTS (SP3) > >Machines are connected using a specially modified RJ-45 cable. I can log on, access server resources, etc. so the network seems to be ok. Get a cheap hub, this may be part of your probem... 5-8 port hubs are available for as little as $60.00 in most large comptuer stores... >Regardless of what settings I change with dcomcnfg I receive a "Not enough storage to complete operation" message on the client. I tried everything suggested by this group (SYSTEM, INTERATIVE, user account added to ACLs, etc.) How much hard drive space do you have ?? a NT machine should have at least a 2 gig drive to run on, anything less will run out of space.. >The following was found in the clients event log. > >DCOM got error "Ran out of memory " from the computer MICRONP90 when attempting to activate the server: >{2E6D91F4-6C00-11D1-A2E2-0060974D213E} > >2. Logged on to client machine (domain this time) using servers default Administrator admin account. > >Same result. Sometimes the server exe is begins to run on the NT server but then a "The instruction at "0x74fa524b"..." error message is displayed (Does someone know how I can prevent the error dialog from displaying for all DCOM errors?). This could potentially be a real PITA in a production environment. > >This stuff is driving me nuts. Informative error messages like "Not enough storage..." don't help. > >Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. > John D.
