It could be as simple as needing a new driver for your drive. You can go to the manufacturers website, download and install the latest. Don't rely on the Windows drivers in XP.If you're trying to create DVD-Video, you need the DVD-Video plug-in. I don't know if you can still get it. You would have to ask Nero. You can ask them at Online chat or by e-mail. If you get a resolution, please let us know what it is. As far as can remember I never have had any problems with ImgBurn except when I try to open the program with this DVD which I want to make an image of. I get the following 2 error messages when I open the program.I/O Error!Device: [0:0:0]CDB: 12 00 00 00 60 00Interpretation: InquiryReason: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.I/O Error!Device: [0:0:0] (D:)CDB: 12 00 00 00 60 00Interpretation: InquiryReason: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. The drive is then invisible in the program, so I can't do anything with the DVD in ImgBurn, even though Windows has no problem seeing and using the DVD.Here's my log: I 11:24:24 ImgBurn Version 2.5.6.0 started! Question: When trying to install software using my DVD-Drive, I insert the disk in to the drive http://www.5starsupport.com/xp-faq/1-95.htm and it just spins and does nothing else. I then get an error message: "Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed." What could be causing this and how can I fix it? Answer: The error message is caused from Windows trying to use a transfer mode that your CD/DVD drive cannot recognize. A more common error device error message that is seen when this issue arises is: "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." However, both error messages yield the same solution. To resolve this issue, you will need to change the transfer mode in your IDE channel properties. Here's how: Go to Start Right click My Computer Select Manage from the device error windows resulting menu In the Computer Management window, select Device Manager In the right pane, click to expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers Identify your CD/DVD drive in the expanded menu and right click the appropriate drive Select Properties In the Properties windows, click the Advanced Settings tab In the Transfer Mode box that represents your CD/DVD drive (typically Device 1), open the drop down menu and select PIO Only Click OK and exit all windows. If this does not resolve your issue, then you will need to go back using the above procedure and change the Device 1 in step #9 back to "DMA if available". Then, change Device 0 to "PIO Only" in the Transfer Mode box.
