I get the above error part way through the backup. As suggested in forums I have looked at I device error have deleted shadow copies on my laptop and another smaller drive to no effect. I have also run chkdsk on the external drive and C: drive and found no disk errors. I dont have a problem moving files to the WD external drive - but get I/O error when I attempt a complete backup. Do you have anyother suggestions?
