SD memory card is a small, portable storage device typically used on a digital camera or camcorder, cell phone or computer i/o device error usb solution system. When using the card, you may occasionally encounter an I/O error. The term "I/O" refers to an input/output error and may involve the SD card itself or the card reader you are using. Most http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/236252/how-to-fix-this-i-o-error-on-sd-card I/O errors can be easily corrected with just a few moments of your time. Eject the SD card from the card reader and inspect the write protection tab on the side. This tab needs to be in the up position; otherwise, you won't be able to write any data to the card. Insert the SD card into the card reader, then click "Start," "(My) Computer" and right-click the removable device http://www.ehow.com/how_7301874_repair-sd-i_o-device-error.html icon. Choose "Properties" from the pull-down menu. A window opens showing the specs on your SD card. Notice the amount of available disk space. If you are out of storage space, you will encounter error messages when you try to save information to the card. Delete old files on the SD card that you no longer need to free up some disk space and resolve this issue. Check the connection between the SD card reader and the computer. If the card reader is not properly connected to the computer, you'll receive errors messages when attempting to use the SD card or your computer simply won't recognize the card. Reformat the card, if you suspect that files on the card may have been corrupted by a virus or write error. Click "Start," "(My) Computer," then right-click the removable device icon and choose "Format." Click "OK" and wait while the SD card is reformatted. Looks good but the card reader from the computer will not read her device error memory card. The camera is brand new as is the memory card from JandR. The other cameras in the house use XD memory cards which the cardreader reads just fine. I also use my psp memory card and adaptor and the cardreader reads that just fine as well. (One at a time of course, I dunno what would happen if I put memory o device error cards in all the slots, probably not a good idea.) So, I put the SD card in and go to My Computer and Hit F and it says: "My Computer F;\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error". I don't get it, why would Pro Duo and XD works fine but with SD it won't? The device appears to be working fine it reads the rest. I also did a Windows XP update just in case, I installed all the necessary stuff and all the optional stuff as well. Thanks. Back to top #2 Doug Doug Attitudes are contagious....... I believe that it is still operable, i.e. it is broken at a filesystem level. Is it possible to recover SD card somehow - may be force mount filesystem or force format SD card? My laptop is Dell Inspiron 1501, it has built-in SD reader. There is no problem with SD reader because it still operates on the other SD cards. Would you please advise me a commands sequence/shell script/program that can turn my SD card back to life -or at least make a some sort of diagnostic work? Thanks in advance, Alexander P.S.: lcpci shows the following ("broken" SD card is plugged in): Code: ...
