Not sure what brand HD (I think WD) cause I haven't taken it out yet. I only have one 1TB HD in my computer, yet, factory default, it was set in BIOS as RAID. A couple of days ago, I kept getting a message from Intel Rapid Storage Technology "Disk on port 0: At Risk". I had the option to set it to normal. Which I did. Whenever I tried to restart the PC, it gives me a black screen with this Error code: AHCI Port0 Device Error. Press f2 to resume Which I did, and it would go back to normal windows login screen and computer would operate.I tried a sfc scan and it didn't show any errors. I

It goes to a black screen showing Devices loading and then this error message shows on the last line. I can hit F1 to continue which I have been doing and that lets me use the PC as normal. Co-incidently I have been getting messages to back up my hard port 0 device drive, which I have done. Is the hard drive about to crash or is it a problem I can resolve without send the PC back to the manufacturer? jrtchunter, #1 2011/02/21 wildfire Getting Old Joined: 2008/04/21 Messages: 4,647 Likes Received: 124 Trophy Points: 843 Location: Dundee, Tayside Computer Experience: Intermediate It does look like your HD is failing. Try testing it with seatools (assuming the system is the one listed in your specs). Use the dos version and create a bootable CD, let us know the results. Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > Advertisement panda420 Thread Starter Joined: Feb 28, 2012 Messages: 11 Hi all, When I turn my desktop on it won't boot up to Windows. Instead it does this: First it shows DEL: Enter Setup F12: boot menu ... 10 seconds later it says Detect drives done, no any drive found and after 2 seconds it immediately dissappears and goes to the next screen that says AHCI Port0 Device Error Press F1 to resume if i dont push anything it stays on this screen, so i push F1 to resume. So what I've tried to do to fix the problem. First I try pushing Del: Setup or F12 Boot menu... it immediatley brings me to the AHCI Port0 Device Error Press F1 screen. So that leaves me no choice but to press F1 once I hit that screen. After about a minute it gives me the options: 1) Launch startup repair (recommended) 2) Start windows normally I try both options and they both say "Windows is loading files...." and then brings me to the screen where it just says (c) Microsoft Corporation with the green loading gif, then it goes to a black screen and nothing happens even after 30 mins for both options. So I tried using the operating system recovery disks that were provided with the computer. Restarted the computer with the disk in and pushed Alt+F10 It says "windows is loading files", then it says starting windows and nothing happens even after waiting an hour. Tried this a few times and it just sits at "starting windows" Please someone help. Ive had this computer for about 6 months now but i lost the receipt after moving. I also opened up the desktop to check all the wiring and everything seems secure. than
