The error can be the result of the START verb or the -m or -w command line parameter which attempted to allocate conventional memory for BBx. If error is new, then it is likely that some changes were made to the system's configuration that decreased the amount of free conventional memory. Therefore, the solution would be to ensure that adequate conventional memory exists so that BBx can allocate the memory it needs successfully. There are a couple of ways to do this. The first, if your OS has such a program, would be to run memmaker or the like. This program (provided with the OS) tunes the autoexec.bat and config.sys files in an attempt to free up as much conventional memory as it can. However, sometimes tuning these files manually results in a freeing up a few more kb, and so it's the second option. To tune these yourself, the DOS
