There are several things you can try to resolve the issue, in this specific order: Close Visual Studio Solution and completely exit out of it, then run it again and compile. This sometimes fixes the issue. Right-Click on your Visual Studio Solution, select "Clean" Solution, then Right Click on SharePoint Project and choose "Retract". Rebuild and Deploy. In PowerShell running as AdministratorrunUninstall-SPSolution: Unistall-SPSolution -identity {Name of WSP File} -allwebapplications In PowerShell running as Administrator runRemove-SPSolution: Remove-SPSolution -identity {Name of WSP File} -force In PowerShell running as Administrator run the Delete() command: (Get-SPSolution {Name of WSP File}).Delete() If items 1 through 4 doesn't fix it, item 5 will definitely do the trick, but it shouldn't be run unless all the other solutions fail. SharePoint > SharePoint Legacy Versions - Development and Other Programming Question 0 Sign in to vote Hope I might be able to find some help on this one... I developed a simple web part which posts HTML form contents to a SharePoint list - on first deploy, it worked fine, using the Web Part https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/d6abca37-d19c-4b8f-bdc0-43eb1c3707ae/the-languageneutral-solution-package-was-not-found?forum=sharepointdevelopmentlegacy project base from VSeWSS 1.1, but after deployment, I noticed I fat fingered a url for redirection, and went back in to change it. Now, on deployment I get the following error: ------ Build started: Project: ContactUsForm, Configuration: Release Any CPU ------ ContactUsForm -> C:\Visual Studio 2005 Projects\ContactUsForm\ContactUsForm\bin\Release\ContactUsForm.dll ------ Deploy started: Project: ContactUsForm, Configuration: Release Any CPU ------ ------ Deactivate and uninstall features in old solution ------ ------ Retract and delete old solution contactusform.wsp from the SharePoint ------ Retracting solution ... I've restarted IIS, recycled app pools, etc., but still keep getting this error and am a bit confused as to where to go next. I followed the steps listed in this blog, but this did not work either... http://mindsharpblogs.com/aaron/archive/2007/08/23/2603.aspx Has anyone else ran into this - and any ideas on a solution? Thanks! Fridayin deployment step ‘Retract Solution': The language-neutral solution package was not found. We don't know why this happens, possibly some beta problem, but one solution is to https://sisharepoint.wordpress.com/2010/01/28/the-language-neutral-solution-package-was-not-found/ call the Delete method on the solution directly, using PowerShell: (get-spsolution mysolution.wsp).Delete() You can also run get-spsolution without parameters to see which solutions are currently installed in the farm.
