I am trying to create items for my game by putting their settings in an xml file, but I am having no help. I have had little previous experience with xml, so my mistake is probably a very simple one. To load the settings, I use the Load() method in my Item class. I am struggling to figure out how to format the XML file to provide a layout like this, can someone please help suggest a layout? Thank you in advance!! I have read over some XML tutorials but I fail to see how you can explicitly say Name = background (path to texture) position = Vector 2 (0,0) width = 200 height = 500 These are the type I want to store in the xml files,I already have C# code to assign the values from the XML and uses them to create a rectangle, store the texture and then to use a spritebacth to draw it! my problem is I have no idea how to represent these types in an xml file! Look at this layout: http://msdn.microsof...1(v=vs.85).aspx I'd assume you'd want to make the layout similar to this, just swap out the specifics in this example for your needs. Which would be storing the Texture name(so you can load in the correct texture), position, width and height for each individual entry.
