DHCP Client error 2 Started by BCTurtle , Feb 10 2013 07:36 PM Please log in to reply 9 replies to this topic #1 BCTurtle BCTurtle Members 22 posts OFFLINE Local time:06:48 PM Posted 10 February 2013 - 07:36 PM Background: I've been having an issue on my system after installing and then removing Jetico Personal Firewall. It completely screwed up my network connection. Environment: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 I've searched all over the net and tried various fixes, including many from this site: DHCP Client - "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified" when I try to start it in the Services. All dependencies are there: AFD, Tdx (NetIO), Network Store Interface Service. I've tried sfc /scannow and came up clean. netsh int ip reset C:\reset.log netsh winsock reset catalog Added permissions to registry keys for dhcp and tcpip. Device Manager (show hidden) has AFD, tdx, NSI all running and set to start at boot. Restore points are gone, so not a possible solution. Thanks in advance!
