portion of it stopped working, though the scanning portion of it still works. I tried to install the Windows 7 drivers for HP Photosmart C4400 but the keep telling me that there is an error with my printer spooler. I have gone into the spooler properties and everything looks set up right but when I try to manually start it I receive the same message. I am just looking for a fix so that error 2 the system cannot find the file specified windows service I can print. I don't care how the fix occurs or if I use another program as long as it doesn't effect the rest of my computer and I don't have to pay an arm and leg for a simple fix like Dell and Microsoft want me to do. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. This is how to use sfc /scanow http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833Good LuckHope you find the info useful Wednesday, January 20, 2010 4:34 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Did the fix work? Obviously the first thing the user did was to run the Printer Troubleshooter Fix-It, and it did determine Spooler service wasn't running, but was unable http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/print-spooler-service-error-2-error-3-windows-7/ to fix it.There could be two possible causes for this error. 1) Spooler service registry settings are incorrect and/or 2) Some spooler modules missing (which SFC /Scannow could fix). First I had the user send me the Spooler service registry settings, and it showed:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Spooler

I'm not sure how it happened, but my printing abilities stopped suddenly. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my HP psc750 software and drivers but the installation keeps failing to complete. Further research shows me that the Print Spooler is stopped in the Computer Management/Service console. When I attempt to start error 2 the print spooler service, the following error message pops up: "Could not start the Print Spooler service on Local Computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified." Services shows the spoolsv.exe file at: C:\Windows\System32\spoolsv.exe My Norton AntiVirus reports that the file is clean, however I keep getting the message that the file cannot be found While I'd like to know just where my Print Spooler file cannot find the has gone, I REALLY would like to know how to find/repair/reinstall the missing file(s) so I am able to print again. Data: Using XP Home w/SP1 and SP2 installed. Any/all help will most Joyfully be accepted (and would get my wife off my back as she REALLY needs to print some important documents!!)
