Have you tried installing a Debian VM as a test using the built in template?Regards,Rohan 1345-151183-1005427 Back to top Guest Members #3 Guest 6,766 posts Posted 09 June 2008 - 03:06 PM I only tried with Cent since this is what I need but I will give Debian a try.I just looked at the templates and Debian is grayed out. Redhat and Suse are there tho.Did I install the wrong package? I got the base install. I think I saw that it said I could install Windows and Nix VM with that. 1345-151183-1005428 Back

is a somewhat generic subject, https://lkml.org/lkml/2015/2/23/23 so please forgive me. We are having some https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=638152 very strange Xen problem in SLES11 SP3 (kernel 3.0.101-0.46-xen).Eventually I found out that the messagekernel: [615432.648108] vbd vbd-7-51888: 2 creating vbd structureis not a "progress" message (some vbd structure was created), but error 2 an error message (the vbd structure was NOT created because of error "2").So first the user has to recognize that the text actually is an error, then the user has to find out what "2" means. Interestingly the most important error 2 creating information is missing (block major an minor number of the device for vbd_create()). When I did a little digging in the code I found this pearl of code (/usr/src/linux/drivers/xen/blkback/xenbus.c): switch (err) { case -ENOMEDIUM: if (!(be->blkif->vbd.type & (VDISK_CDROM | VDISK_REMOVABLE))) { default: xenbus_dev_fatal(dev, err, "creating vbd structure"); break; } /* fall through */ case 0: err = xenvbd_sysfs_addif(dev); if (err) { vbd_free(&be->blkif->vbd); xenbus_dev_fatal(dev, err, "creating sysfs entries"); } break; }Itself vbd_create() does not log a message, and neither does blkdev_get_by_dev() where the error comes from.Regards,UlrichP.S.
