Net View returns "System Error 6118 has occurred The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available" Browstat staus returned "Browsing is not active on domain" I have restarted all computers and nothing resolved. You can check as following steps first check each pc is in the same workgroup. disable the firewall and virus protect in each PC. Ping PC2 from PC1 to ensure the network is ok net view \PC2 from PC1 to check if it is ok. share|improve this answer edited Dec 4 '12 at 7:48 answered Dec 3 '12 at 3:28 ray_linn 1,145613 Firewall and my antivirus are off/disabled. error 6118 has occurred. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available. This error can be related to two different https://apttech.wordpress.com/2009/10/20/system-error-6118-has-occurred-when-using-net-view-command/ issues Issue 1. The firewall is turned on and it is preventing browsing and sharing the network where the computer belongs See Microsoft article id: 298804 for details The solution is to turn off the firewall Issue 2. The ip address of the PC has changed and it is on a different subnet than your network Example: your error 6118 network is on a 192.168.1.x and the computer with the error is on a 10.1.1.x network The solution is to change the ip (make it static) to the same subnet as your network. Example make the ip of the computer 192.168.1.50 and use the same gateway and DNS as the others PC on the network The likely system error 6118 cause of this problem is that there is another router on the network that is leasing IPs on a different subnet. The long term solution is to disable DHCP on this router or make all the machines on your network static IPS. Like this:Like Loading...
