I have disabled network adapters and stopped and restarted the browser service. If I use net view \\servername i get the shares on that server. All my mapped drives are working, and I can access my NAS. The problem only began in the last few days as I remember using error 6118 the list of servers for this workgroup net view a week or so ago to find a computer name. Any suggestions on how to proceed? You can check as following steps first check each pc is in the same workgroup. disable the firewall and virus protect in each PC. Ping PC2 from PC1 to ensure the network is ok net view \PC2 from PC1 to check if it is ok. share|improve this answer edited Dec 4 '12 at 7:48 answered Dec 3 '12 at 3:28 ray_linn 1,145613 Firewall and my antivirus are off/disabled. TonyPh12345 2010-07-07 03:19:08 UTC #4 Well, this is probably obvious, but the reason you're not getting any list of servers in the Network Share listing is that the server isn't (properly) advertising itself as a Network Server to the WD. Do your other Windows client PCs see the shares? error 6118 In other words, if on a DIFFERENT windows box you execute the command c:> net view You see the server in the list? and if you do... c:> net view \servername You get a list of all the shared folders from that server? Encryption 2010-07-07 03:27:07 UTC #5 Yes, I see it from other machines (The shares) and when I execute the command it runs successfully.
