Switches are unmanaged. Recently I used the net view command system error 6118 has occurred server 2008 and got the 6118 error. Computer Browser is disabled on both servers. Computers have the service enabled. Nothing has been added to the network in a long time. Net View returns "System Error 6118

has occurred The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available" Browstat staus returned "Browsing is not active on domain" I have restarted all computers and nothing resolved. I have disabled network adapters and stopped and restarted the browser service. If I use net view \\servername i get the shares on that server. All my mapped drives are working, and I can access my NAS. net view error 6118 windows server 2008 r2 The problem only began in the last few days as I remember using net view a week or so ago to find a computer name. You can check as following steps first check each pc is in the same workgroup. disable the firewall and virus protect in each PC.
