Error calling Dispatcher.dispatch Math-Moi Math-Moi (math_m) on 2012-08-16 21:08 Hi, I created an simple app (I am only learning Ruby on Rails) that I uploaded on my server. While on my computer with Webbrick everything was fine and working, now http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10492012/redmine-error-calling-dispatcher-dispatch-nomethoderror-private-method-spl it is a totally different thing. I can't see anything, the page is blank. So I checked my routes, but everything was working on Webbrick, so it should not be the routes. Then I deleted my app and https://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/4404956 created a new one directly on the server. Adding only a home_controller file, a home_helper file and a home folder in the views with a index.html.erb file. The view is simple, just a few lines and a div. But the page is still blank. I then turned to the logs and I found an error message. Still, I cannot fix it, it seems. Anyway, here is what I found in the "mongrel.log" file : Thu Aug 16 11:54:21 -0700 2012: Error calling Dispatcher.dispatch #

Summary >> The lack of my website availability at the beginning of the week was caused by a software update, which involved an unnoticed error. What the error was, and how come I didn't notice it is what this somewhat boring post is about. I also show how I set up my Apache to show the maintenance message, and to wake the website up after a software update has been completed. Recently I ran a software update from Ruby on Rails version 2.3.5 to 2.3.14. You might have noticed the "maintenance" message all pages were redirected to last Sunday. Of course, after the update completed, I clicked on a bookmark entry "My Blog" in the browser window, and, having acknowledged the correct loading, prematurely considered the update completed well. I was wrong this time. But first,... How I perform updates on my webserver To automate the update process, I use a couple o
