Be sure to check out the Introduction to Pro Trinket guide for setting that up and than download and install the NeoPixel Library. Introduction to Pro Trinket Download Adafruit Arduino IDE Download NeoPixel Library Uploading Sketches With the Adafruit Arduino IDE and NeoPixel library installed, create a new sketch. Paste the desired error calling gradients code into the text editor. Select Pro Trinket from Tools > Board. Then USBtinyISP from Tool > Programmmer. Proceede by pluging a micro USB cable from your computer to the Pro Trinket. Watch for the red LED to start blinking and click upload to compile the sketch onto the Pro Trinket. If everything is good, Arduino will prompt with you a successful message in the console window. Muzzle Flash Blast The code below was written by Tony DiCola. The basic idea is to pass it a strip of pixels, starting RGB color, ending RGB color, and total duration in milliseconds. Then it will loop through and animate all the pixels going from the start to end color over that period of time. Just one call to go from white-ish to black works well for a simple flash, but you can get crazy and make multiple calls to flash between different colors and fade out. Linear Interpolation Tony put together a color demo to show linear interpolation can be used to generate color gradients. The start and end colors

The gradient is very "steppy", i.e. there are stripes. How can this gradient be made continuous? gradient adobe-flash share|improve this question edited Jul 18 '12 at 9:39 Scott 93.7k12125247 asked Jul 18 '12 at 9:04 Alec 101 What colour setting is your document set to? Very slight gradients between two similar colours will look stepped depending on what colour depth you are using. The various colour depths are: 8 bit (256 colours), 16 bit (about 65 thousand), 24 bit (about 16 million) and 32 bit (over 4 billion different colours). –Oliver G Jul 24 '12 at 10:28 i know this is so irritating and mysterious, my photoshop sometimes does this 'step' gradients, and most of the time it does not. When it does that i feel as if this is just not the day. –Muhammad Umer Feb 2 '13 at 2:27 Have you tried just filling a rectangle with a native Flash gradient? –Amy Blankenship Mar 4 '13 at 2:31 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote I experienced the same problem with InDesign a few months ago. My solution was to create the gradient in photoshop (I have the feeling it handles gradients better), and then add a very subtle noise and hide it with a gaussian blur. share|improve this answer answered Jan 3 '13 at 0:38 TKrugg 484411 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote I'm not sure there is an optimal solution for this, since with the coming of LCD screens, every gradient seems to have slight banding on it. Only trick I have is to add a tiny amount of noise to the gradient, which "breaks" the banding. But since you are working in Flash, it would mean switching the software-generated gradient into a Photoshop-adjusted bitmap. Perhaps a semi-transparent layer of noise on top of the gradient? That is probably even worse a solution... share|improve this answer answered Sep 2 '12 at 9:04 Hrulga 68137 add
