Suddenly, I heard my computer very noisy and decided immediately to check my Windows Task Manager and what I noticed in processes was that svchost.exe was taken almost 100% of my CPU Usage. Then, I immediately ended this process although that that there were 3 other svchost.exe processes which were taking 0% of my CPU Usage. After I ended this one svchost.exe error communicating with which was taking 100% of my CPU Usage, my Internet connection immediately dropped and then I was unable to reconnect again. What I had to do was to Restart my laptop in order to connect again to Internet. After I restarted my laptop, I got immediately a message on my Screen “Generic Host Process for Win32 Services”. And then when I went back on Google and typed any search, I was immediately redirected to insurancepuma.com or loanpuma.com At this moment, I realized that I got a virus because the svchost.exe continued to take 100% of my CPU Usage and when I ended this process, I immediately lost my internet connection but in the same time another process started to take 100% of my CPU Usage and that was some plugin-container.After I restarted my laptop again, this time I decided just not to stop svchost.exe because I needed my internet in order to find some help and the help that I found was located at this web-site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg3d... from which I learned this: hard drive(C)/windows/system32/drivers/ect/ (delete) hosts After I restarted my computer, there was no solution on my computer, for this reason the next what I did was located on this web-site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-Vv... This was the solution on my problem how I got rid off the message “Generic Host Process for Win32 Services”But the very TRU

I have tried to uninstall the programme but each time I get the error message "A network error occured while attempting to read from the file: C:\Windows\Installer\eav_nt32_enu.msi" I have attempted to install two service packs as recommended on this website: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839174 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885055 ...but this has also not solved the problem. If anybody could advise me of how I can resolve this issue I would be most grateful as I am so worried that I currently do not have any anti-virus software running on my computer. Thanks! I would try running this: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=290301 3, Remove Program Files/Eset Folder 4. Download, Reinstall NOD32 Let us know how it goes. Thankful, Mar 14, 2010 #2 strawberrisc Registered Member Joined: Mar 14, 2010 Posts: 5 Thanks so much for the reply. I have done what you suggested and I now no longer have the "Error communicating with Kernel" message. However, though Nod appears to now be up and running, when I click on "Smart Scan" or "Custom Scan" I get the message "Failed to Run a Scan". Also, within my Windows Security Alerts/Malware Protection it says that ESET Nod 32 Antivirus 4.2 reports that it is turned off. However, when I select "Turn On Now" nothing happens. I think this means that it's not active? Thanks in advance again! strawberrisc, Mar 14, 2010 #3 Thankful Savings Monitor Joined: Feb 28, 2005 Posts: 3,619 Location: New York City Please answer the following: 1. Do you see a green NOD32 icon in your taskbar (lower right corner)? 2. Does Windows Task Manager show processes egui.exe and ekrn.exe running? 3. What is the version of the virus signature database?
