The network consists of a single Active Directory domain named Company.com. All network servers run Windows Server 2003. All client computers run Windows XP Professional. An administrator named Sara creates a shared folder named Data on a server named Server1. The shared folder is a central location for users to store and share data. The shared folder is accessed only from the error copying file or folder the requested resource is in use network. When a user named Karen attempts to copy a file name Sales.doc to a shared folder, she receives the error message shown in the exhibit.Error Copying File or Folder Cannot Copy Sales.doc. Access is denied. Make sure that the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use. You view the effective permissions of the Users group for the Data folderEffective Permissions for USERS group in Advanced Security Settings for DATA share:All checked except for Full Control and Delete Subfolders and filesYou need to ensure that users can modify documents in the Data shared folder. What should you do?A.Assign the Anonymous group theAllow - Full Control NTFS permissions for the Data folder.B.Assign the Anonymous group theAllow - Change share permissions for the Data shared folder.C.Instruct User to log off and then log on to her computer.D.Enable File and Print Sharing on user's computer.I like to say B is the correct answer. But study material say C is the correct one. I'm thinking B becasue there is a note in the MS study material that in a Windows Server 2003 domain environment, you can allow members of the Anonymous Logon group to be members of the Everyone group on a domain controller by editing the domain security policy and also now with W2K3 Everyone Group now has READ only Share Permission by default. It does not state that Administrator made a

Why do I receive a file-copy error when I perform an in-place upgrade of Windows Server 2003? Sep 28, 2003 John Savill | Windows IT Pro EMAIL Tweet Comments 7 Advertisement A. If you install Windows 2003 over an existing error copying file Windows 2003 installation, you might receive any of the following errors: Setup Cannot Copy the File Cmprops.dl_ Setup Cannot Copy the File Licwmi.dl_ Setup Cannot Copy the File Mmfutil.dl_ Setup Cannot Copy the File Servereps.dl_ You might also notice errors in the scssetup.log file in the \%systemroot%\security folder. These errors are the result of a corrupted secedit.sdb file. This file corruption often occurs when a computer suddenly stops rather than completing a controlled shutdown. To resolve these errors, you must use the esentutl.exe file to repair the database by performing the following steps: Start a command session. Run Esentutl's repair option by typing esentutl /p %windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb Click OK to the displayed dialog box. Esentutl will confirm the repair by displaying a log file similar to the following example: Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Database Utilities Version 5.2 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved. Initiating REPAIR mode... Database: C:\WINDOWS\security\database\secedit.sdb Temp. Database: TEMPREPAIR4072.EDB Checking database integrity. the file). You either do not have the access rights to read the file, or do not have access rights to create/overwrite the file. Network SecurityThis type of error commonly occurs when copying to a network share. On the computer that is sharing the folder over the network:- Run Windows File Explorer- Navigate to the folder you’re sharing- Right-click on the folder and select Sharing and Security... from the pop-up menu- Depending on how Windows XP is configured there are two different options:1) Tick the checkbox that says Allow network users to change my filesor2) Click on the Permissions button and make sure Full Control is tickedIf it still fails try removing the share and recreating it with Full Control / Allow network users to change my files. This will reset the file permissions.Note: it's likely that network access to files hosted on machines running later versions of Windows (by another networked machine running an earlier version of Windows) may be more problematic due to (more) restrictive security in the newer version of Windows, and/or security modes, access tokens, etc., that differ between the two systems). Older versions of Windows are generally less restrictive in that respect, so you may have more success installing on the machine with the newer Windows version and accessing the older machine/version's files over the network. Such a setup may thus be able to access the files on both sides more easily.Encrypted Blocked Files If you download a file, e.g. using Internet Explorer, to an NTFS volume, then the file may be marked as blocked by Windows. You can see if a file is blocked by right-clicking on it and selecting Properties from the pop-up menu. At the bottom of the General tab it will say if the file is blocked or not (This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer). You can click the Unblock button to unblock the file. If a file is both NTFS encrypted, and blocked, then you cannot copy the file from a remote computer. You must either unblock it or unencrypt it. It is possible to configure Windows not to block downloaded files automatically:- Run gpedit.msc- Go to: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Attachment Manager- Enable: Do not preserve zone information in file attachmentsThis change will only take effect on new files and not existing files.Encrypted FilesIf a file is encrypted you may also receive an Access Denied error, as the following Microsoft KB article explains:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/250494 Network Drives If you are connecting to a UNC path, e.g. \\server\share\folder\, the
