Cannot copy File: Posted on 2004-11-05 Windows Server 2003 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 2,222 Views Last Modified: 2008-01-09 Dear Experts, I have error copying at my work an HP MSA1000 (SAN) with HP DL380 G3. We are preparing a new fileserver with W2K3 that is connected to the SAN through fiber optic. We are using robocopy to migrate files from our old File Server NT4. The migrated folder (called vol1) that contains all our files (user homefolders etc) is about 80GB and it is placed on SAN disks. I am trying to copy that folder error copying file in another HD but I get a window with the following message after the preparing to copy files: Error Copying File or Folder Cannot copy File: If I browse the vol1 subdirectories and copy them little by little they can be copied to alternate locations (so there is no issue of ACL) Is there any known limitation for how many file can copied for win2003 enterprise server? Why can't I copy all my files at once? Thanks, in advance. 0 Question by:prjim166 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution byPAQ_Man PAQed with points refunded (500) PAQ_Man Community Support Moderator Go to Solution 3 Comments LVL 5 Overall: Level 5 Windows Server 2003 5 Message Expert Comment by:map0002004-11-05 are you using an account which have permission on both servers? When I tried to copy the vol1 folder apparently the path was so large windows couldn't display it. Trying to copy the files from folders more deep in the tree s
