line arguments from R scripts → Thunderbird hangs forever when "Copying message to Sent folder" Posted on August 15, 2011 by Thomas Cokelaer Tweet I set up a new account under Thunderbird with an IMAP in-going and SMTP out-going. thunderbird copying message to sent folder error All mails and folders are correclty imported from the server. I received new mails can

delete them (it is updated on the server). So everything looks good. However, when I try to send a new message, the message error copying file or folder is sent correctly but while trying to save the mail in the ‘Sent' folder, it hangs forever. What is happening is that Thunderbird wants to save a copy of the sent message in a folder called ‘Sent' error copying file or folder access denied which is located in the root of the account folders. If the folder does not exist, Thunderbird will attempt to create it. If it cannot be created, Thunderbird will hang until you cancel the send. In my case, this folder already exists so Thunderbird hangs forever. One solution is to prevent Thunderbird to save the file since your server is already taking care of that action. So, you need to disable the client to save the

And the prompt for this is often buried under the message window, which is immovable, so one must close Thunderbird to recover. Saving the message to the sent IMAP folder hangs forever. I left it for an entire day and it didn't change, just the progress bar going and going. The only trouble is, it works occasionally, and you can always copy or move an email from one folder to an IMAP folder so there's no problem with access to the folder
could be a few possible causes: 1) First, determine which folder is your "true" Sent folder. Try logging into your email http://support.postbox-inc.com/hc/en-us/articles/204344260-Cannot-Copy-Messages-to-Sent-Folder account using a Web interface, e.g. Gmail on the Web. Send to yourself a test message with a unique subject, such as "True Sent Folder." Within the Web interface, https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2196491 look for your message "True Sent Test" in the Sent folder. Make sure the Sent folder exists and that it contains your message. Within Postbox click on your Sent folder (it error copying will have a "special" icon next to it, which looks different than a normal storage folder icon) and look for your unique message "True Sent Folder." If it cannot be found, then you're Sent folder mapping is wrong, and it must be corrected. Find the folder that contains the message "True Sent Test". If it cannot be found, go error copying file to the File menu, select Subscribe... and make sure that your Sent folder is subscribed to. Go to Options|Preferences / Accounts / [your account] / Copies & Folders / Sent, then select "Other" and navigate to the folder that contains the message "True Sent Folder." Set that as your Sent folder. 2) Next, determine if copying to the Sent folder is even required. Many ISPs automatically copy messages to the Sent folder, so having Postbox performing this operation is unnecessary, and could cause problems. Go to Options|Preferences / Accounts / [your problem account] / Copies & Folders / Sent. Deselect the option for copying to the Sent folder, and close the preferences panel. Send a message with a unique subject, such as "Auto Copy Sent Folder". Next look to see if this message is copied into your Sent folder by your server automatically. If yes, then your issue is solved! 3) If your server does not automatically copy to the Sent folder, and you know that your folder is mapped to the correct S

On the local machine or on an IMAP server along with your inbox? The latter can be slow since it requires that the message be copied over the network rather than to a local drive.
