You wish to inherit from a Rich Text field on the parent document into a Rich Text field on the child. This is set up by having the Default value of the field on the child document match the field name of the parent document. In most cases, the Rich Text field is inherited correctly and text properties such as color and bold as well as doclinks are populated in the child document. However, if you have a graphic in the inherited Rich Text field you may see one of two results. You may receive the message "Error copying metafile" or the inherited Rich Text field may be truncated at the graphic. Answer It is not sufficient to have the Default value of the inheriting field match the inherited field name. The inheriting field name on the child form must be exactly the same name as the name of the inherited field on the parent form. Rename the field on the child form to match the name of the inherited field on the parent form. Supporting Information: The size of the graphic in the Rich Text field causes it to be saved in the parent document as multiple items. If you look at the document properties of the parent document, you will see these multiple fields with the same name. Each will have an item "Dup Item ID" to distinguish it. To correctly inherit the Rich Text field with the graphic, you will have to rename the Rich Text field on the child document to match the name of the field on the parent. To continue to display the information in the original field on existing documents, modify your child form as follows: 1. Copy/paste the Rich Text field to create a new field directly under the existing field. 2. Rename this new field so it exactly matches the field name on the parent form. 3. Remove the Default value formula from the original Rich Text field. 4. Add the Default value formula to the new field. 5. Add a hide formula to the fields to hide the new field if the old field is not null, and hide old field if the new field is not null. So we called 3rd party techsupport and they told us that sometimes a BMP inside a document will get corrupted. They told me that the corrupted BMP prevents you from opening certain documents. They told me to create an agent that would remove http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/46dom.nsf/869c7412fe5d56b7852569fa007826e3/bcf1bcfce58b987385256d280043eb21?OpenDocument the BMP file. I haven't tried this agent yet, so please make sure you understand what the agent does before using it. Do the following to create and run the agent: 1. Login to Lotus Notes client 2. Go to necessary database 3. Click Create menu 4. Click Agent 5. Enter Name: myAgentName 6. Click Add Action button 7. Select Action: Modify Field 8. Select Field: body 9. Value - @unavailable 10. Select Replace Value 11. Click OK 12. Click File, Save 13. Click File, Close 14. Go to the database that's giving you problems 15. Place a checkmark next to the problem document 16. Click Actions menu 17. Click newly created Agent Needless to say, you may want to backup your problem document before running this agent. If the problem is related to images in your documents, techsupport recommended that we use embedded objects instead of cutting and pasting images into our documents. Hope this helps. Don't worry, I don't read Czech either, but there's a simple hint: send the guy who wrote the response a mail, under uhlar@edevelopment.sk, in English. If he responds, you're helped. If he doesn't, maybe there's someone here who knows. You can always point him into the direction of your current question on EE with a URL. I don't have the answer, only a suggestion: install a newer client... Cheers! Sjef 0 LVL 31 Overall: Level 31 Lotus IBM 30 Message Expert Comment by:qwaletee2004-03-02 What the heck?
