Choose Language Reinstall Windows Start Full destructive recovery I get a message stating process will take 25-40 mins. Preparing HDD is OK Copying files......After about 10/15 mins i get a error 'error copying vista.wim to recovery partition error code 4' It must be doing something because i have run a xp setup and on the partion page it has 2 : D: PARTITION 1 NTFS - 5500MB C: PARTITION 2 (VISTA) NTFS - 70817MB I am assuming that it has copied the restore files to D partition. This is doing my head in? helpppppppp ps.... i have installed windows xp without any problems, however there is no wireless driver available for xp, hence having to get it back to vista!!! please. I have tried using my Recovery DVD to carry out a 'Full Destructive Recovery' in accordance with the 'Troubleshooting & Recovery' manual. The process starts and gets as http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/vista-ultimate-recovery-problem.3337136/ far as 'Copying files' phase then after around half an hour I get an error message 'Error copying Vista.WIM to recovery partition. Error Code 4'. I click on OK (the only option). The laptop https://www.winhelp.us/restore-windows-re.html appears to carry on in the 'Copying Files' phase but even after a total of two hours nothing else happens. I have tried this three times with the same result. Any ideas would be error copying much appreciated. Thanks, Hatch.
