The arguments can either be paths to spec files, paths to source RPMs or the names of packages which exist as source RPMs in a configured repository, for example: yum-builddep my-package.spec or yum-builddep my-package.src.rpm The same thing can be achieved on newer versions of Fedora that use dnf as their package manager by making sure that dnf-plugins-core is installed and then doing: dnf builddep my-package.spec or dnf builddep my-package.src.rpm share|improve this answer edited Sep 23 '15 at 11:07 answered Nov 5 '12 at 9:12 TomH 5,3901925 Thanks, can you
What http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13227162/automatically-install-build-dependencies-prior-to-building-an-rpm-package can I do to prevent this in the future? If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you https://ask.wireshark.org/questions/24886/error-failed-build-dependencies-while-making-rpm can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware. If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices.
