(Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)". I've moved to a new laptop http://forums.asp.net/t/1385639.aspx?Failed+to+connect+to+server+Microsoft+SqlServer+ConnectionInfo+ with Windows 7 64bit. (It still is working fine on my old laptop.) It's not working in either VS 2008 or the stand alone Database Publishing Wizard. I'm using SQL Server 2005. (My old computer also had VS 2008, SQL Server 2005.) Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks! (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)” is a common error. It may be caused by several reasons: incorrect SQL Server instance name, the protocols you useare disabled, SQL Server instance does not enable remote connections settings or firewall settings. You could follow these steps to solve your problem: 1. Please check your remote SQL Server instance running or not. If not, start your remote SQL Server instance. 2. Please ensure the protocols you use enabled. We could enable the protocols by going to SQL Server Configuration manager-> SQL Server Network Configuration->protocols for instance name. 3. Please make sure your instance name is correct. To find your computer name, please follow the steps: Start-> right-click Computer->properties. · For default instance(MSSQLSERVER), we could just use the computer name as the server name. · For named instance

I have the publisher/distributor running on a single server and have a publication set up fine. But when I try to set up a subscription and attempt to connect to the distributor machine, I cannot. I get stuck on the screen where it wants me to connect to the distributor machine. I understand you have to give it the actual server name along with the machine name. So for instance, I enter "10.200.233.31/ICTTCDEV". But when I enter this, I get the following error: Failed to connect to server 10.200.233.31/ICTTCDEV. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)An error has occured while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (proivder: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 67)Now, I can connect to this server just fine via SQL Server when not attempting to connect via this replication subscription wizard, so all my settings on my server are enabled. Named pipes enabled, remote connection enabled, etc. The only thing I can think that could be causing an issue is that the distributor server machine is on a domain while my subscriber machine is not.Any help on this is greatly appreciated. afrika Flowing Fount of Yak Knowledge Nigeria 2706 Posts Posted-09/23/2008: 11:28:27 You have to
