I was hosted in www.hostgator.com. and the script was working fine very nice. secondly i hosted my site in www.hostupon.com used .htaccess files did all setting doesent work in the sense file uploads fine only the problem with progress bar. later i tried to figure out the problem it creates flength flile, but dont know why it cant find it. i saw clearly that directory and the flenght file later it becomes redirect file .. thats it... but error shows in uploader page. then i thought of installing the script in my local computer, i have windows xp and i installed apache and php in it downloaded activeperl to run the pl script ... and made the neccessory settings .. in .conf file the script running very good without any problem. i think this occors in some of the severs, or they dont configure the conf files correctly. thanks thats it... thank you very much for your support i found lot of fourms with your answers... really dedicated person. thanks again , goodluck. The main cause of this problem is due to apache mod_security enabled on your host. Apache mod_security may prevent writing flength file duing file upload. This will cause uploder to determine file length for percentage https://sourceforge.net/p/uber-uploader/discussion/497768/thread/5c5e6a8a/ calculation and uploader produce file length error.Solution: This problem can be easily solve by turn off mod_security through .htaccess . We need to turn off mod_security for uploader directory. To solve this problem, create .htaccess file with the following line and upload file to the directory where uploader files reside.
onto the one that we hope to release live soon. As part of this package, we make use of Uber-Uploader and experienced no http://mrrena.blogspot.com/2009/10/failed-to-find-flength-file-uber.html problems with the dev server, which was set up identically to the http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?628268-Uber-uploader-Error soon-to-be-live configuration. However, I kept getting a "Failed to find flength file" error on the new server. I first consulted the page from Uber Uploader entitled Flength File Help "Failed To Find Flength File." That was clearly not the problem--I did not even have the mod_security module for error failed Apache configured. I then ended up in a discussion forum related to the XUpload solution. Still no joy, though looking back, some people may have been on the right track, just not able to clearly communicate the solution. In short, it was a file permissions issue. As most of you reading these words probably know, Linux has file permission settings and error failed to your Perl/CGI uploader script needs to chmod-ed to 755 or similar--it needs to be fully executable, in other words. No doubt the same issue would be true of an MS server with permissions set as well. Don't know how to set script permissions? Most FTP programs offer that functionality, including the open-source program FileZilla--right click the Perl upload file, as shown below, and set your permissions to fully executable: Posted by Eric Knickerbocker at 3:13 PM Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest Labels: chmod, failed to find flength file error uber-uploader, xupload 13 comments: kahriman7:54 AMThank you very much.
