Archived Forums V > Visual C++ MFC and ATL Question 0 Sign in to vote Get the following error: Error: failed to load message box prompt string 0xf104. This string relates to document creation failure, but it fails to display and stops the program. The changes I made to the code normally cannot explain that unless I changed something by accident. No build error. That program did run normally until yesterday when I rebuilt it after some minor changes. A Windows update took place since last successful build. Error takes place in file docsingle.cpp. Any idea ? Visual Studio 2010 Professionnal / Wondows 7 / Dell core i7 laptop Monday, December 06, 2010 8:54 PM All replies 0 Sign in to vote 0xF104 is AFX_IDP_FAILED_TO_CREATE_DOC ("Failed to create empty document."). This string resides in afxres.rc. Check that this file is included in your Resource Includes. I found this question already, however it was solved because the reference to afxres.rc was http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22613861/mfc-loadstring-fails-when-attempting-to-load-a-string-from-afxres-rc accidentally deleted from the program.rc file. That is not the case for me. My program.rc file includes the exact code listed in the answer to include the afxres.rc file. In debug mode, it breaks on the ASSERT below. int AFXAPI AfxMessageBox(UINT nIDPrompt, UINT nType, UINT nIDHelp) { CString string; if (!string.LoadString(nIDPrompt)) { TRACE(traceAppMsg, 0, "Error: failed to load message box prompt string 0x%04x.\n", nIDPrompt); ASSERT(FALSE); } if (nIDHelp == (UINT)-1) nIDHelp = nIDPrompt; return AfxMessageBox(string, nType, nIDHelp); } When I am actually running the application via the .exe, it simply generates an empty warning box since the AFX_IDP_PARSE_REAL string is not loaded; this goes for any string in the afxres.rc. What could cause the application to not load the string from the afxres.rc? visual-c++ mfc share|improve this question asked Mar 24 '14 at 15:35 Gregg1127 1 Have you stepped into LoadString () to check if it is trying to load the string from the correct resource file? Are you maybe changing the active resource handle? –rrirower Mar 24 '14 at 17:07 Have you tried opening the binary reso

I have a peculiar issue to report. Problem When trying to download a torrent from a third-party search engine, the following appears in an Invalid torrent message box: Failed to load the torrent: expected value (list, dict, int or string) in bencoded string. This only happens with my third-party search engine error failed to for rutracker.org (I tested The Pirate Bay and Kickass Torrents plugins and there's no problem), and only with v3.3.2 and v3.3.3 (it is working perfectly fine in v3.3.1). Reproduction steps Install v3.3.1 (Windows link here). Install rutracker.org plugin (use PluginTest for both username and password). Launch qBittorrent and try to search for debian wheezy. 2 results from rutracker.org will appear. Try to download any of the 2. The download confirmation dialog opens without issue. Now close qBittorrent and install v3.3.2. Repeat steps 2 to 4. Instead of the download confirmation dialog, the error message appears. The same behavior happens in v3.3.3. "This sounds like a problem with your plugin, not qBittorrent" That is indeed possible. However I've spent the whole afternoon wrapping my head around this and from what I've gathered so far my plugin works as intended. Here are my arguments: If we launch python rutracker.py, a small test scenario will download a torrent file. Upon inspection of that torrent file, it appears to be per

If an object is provided, a collection of buttons will be created, all of them triggering the done handler. See custom buttons configuration
