You can try the following with this disclaimer: This may not work, so be sure to back up the file first. Go to the folder where you installed the Palm Desktop (usually \Program files\Palm, or \program files\Sony handheld) and look for your folder (should be your Palm Hotsync name, or if there is a space in the name, it should be the last name, followed by the first char of the first name. Anyway, go there, open the datebook folder,and either 1. cut the datebook.dat file and paste it somewhere else, or 2. delete the file if you've already made a backup of it somewhere else. Then try to hotsync the palm. This should recreate the datebook.dat file, and hopefully fix the Palm Desktop won't open problem.
