Read Problem by Russ on Mar 9, 2002 at 1:50:52 pm Just installed maya. Opened a couple of sample projects, and cannot do a test render. I bring up the render view window, select a resolution and then select render. What I get is a solid color box, and a: Error:Failed to open IFF file for reading http://www.digitaltutors.com/forum/showthread.php?21799-3d-paint-problem-(Failed-to-open-IFF-file-for-reading) /users/Russ/Documents/maya/projects/default/images/perspShape_tmp.ps.ng// Have I set something up incorrectly? Thanks RussReturn to posts index •Re: Render Fail....IFF Read Problemby Sean Fennell on Mar 9, 2002 at 3:07:11 pmI'm assuming you're on a unix or linux box. Check the permissions to your project path and subdirectory paths. It https://forums.creativecow.net/archivethread/61/71932 may be a read write error because maya can't get permissionsReturn to posts index•Re: Render Fail....IFF Read Problemby Russ on Mar 9, 2002 at 10:12:31 pmThanks for the reply.....but no luck. I am on Mac OSX.It may still be a permissions thing, but being new to OSX I am not sure of the cure....still looking for answers.RussReturn to posts index•Re: Render Fail....IFF Read Problemby Sean Fennell on Mar 10, 2002 at 5:05:54 amSorry I don't have experience with OSX, though it is unix based so it may still be a permissions problem. I would uninstall and reinstall maya just to make sure. If the problem still persists contact alias technical support.Return to posts index<< PREVIOUS • VIEW ALL • PRINT • NEXT >>© 2016 CreativeCOW.net All Rights Reserved[TOP]

Therenderblog custom python tools panel in Scripts Some readers of this blog asked me to share a custom panel that I use in maya, so I have cleaned it a bit and removed some scripts that I only use in my particular workflow. Feel free to download and use it in your own way, add more scripts that you have floating around in your shelfs or build your own. Video Overview In this overview video I try to show you how you can use some of the scripts. Install Just unzip the downloaded file and place the 3 scripts in your maya scrips folder, something like "C:\Users\admin\Documents\maya\scripts". Place the icons inside your icons folder "C:\Users\admin\Documents\maya\2014-x64\prefs\icons" . Highlights Some of the scripts you will find in the custom maya panel. Arnold quick settings Arnold AOV's inside renderview and Preview render regions Limitations Some of the scripts are windows OS based, so if you are using mac or linux you will need to replace the OS commands. Sometimes the panel doesn't load or loads empty, just switch between the AE and customPanel and load again the customPanel from the maya menu. Also some of the tools are arnold renderer specific. Download Download custom maya tools panel from creativecrash That's it, let me know if you find any bugs or leave your feedback below. Enjoy. ← Multi-Tile UV workflow in Nuke PhotoScan quick overview → Pingback: Custom Arnold Rendering Tools and Panel for Maya | LESTERBANKS Zeno Pelgrims Thanks for sharing this! Regards therenderblog Check this post: http://therenderblog.com/loading-render-passesaovs-inside-maya-renderview-with-python/ You need to make sure that you have openexr plugin loaded, check your tmp images path also. connor paterson I thought as much… Here's a question.. I am currently rendering a scene that I change the location for every time I version up. (for reviews and so on). Is there a way to have the image path in the script update every time I cr
