The package file is missing" or "Failed to read from registry". This issue occurs due to the change in the default installation location. Cause When Rational ClearQuest is upgraded to 7.1 from 7.0.1 or a prior version, packages which were manually registered in the prior release become unavailable in 7.1. Any access to these packages can cause a package error. For example, the error can occur when a package is being applied to a schema or when using a schema that already contains these packages to either create or upgrade a user database. Packages installed by Rational ClearQuest do not have this issue. Only packages which need to be manually registered before the first use have this issue. For Rational ClearQuest 7.0.1 or prior versions the default installation location on Windows is: C:\Program Files\Rational\ClearQuest. For Rational ClearQuest 7.1, the default installation location on Windows is: C:\Program Files\IBM\RationalSDLC\ClearQuest. Diagnosing the problem The following example assumes that you use the default installation locations for both 7.0.1 and 7.1. You have Rational ClearQuest 7.0.1 installed. You copy the package RPMCQIntegration to C:\Program Files\Rational\ClearQuest\packages. You then register RPMCQIntegration version 1.0 and the data path for this package is stored in the registry as: C:\Program Files\Rational\ClearQuest\packages\RPMCQIntegration\1.0. When upgrading to Rational ClearQuest 7.1, you uninstall Rational ClearQuest 7.0.1 as required. The uninstallation removes all packages under C:\Program Files\Rational\ClearQuest\packages. You then i

The email package is v1.5. That part works great. Now, I want to install the subscription piece, but get an error using the package wizard: "Enabling of schema failed... Failed to read from registry: "software\rational software\clearquest packaged\emailnotification\1.4\DataPath". Name:"DataPath"...Now, does this mean the subscription package is only compatible with v1.4 or is this a error failed pointer not up-to-date? I don't have the 1.4 version installed. Also, On the original email package install, I tweaked the .pl file to place the registry entries in the same location as the existing entries, which is under "software\Wow6432Node\Rational Software\Clearquest packages\ since I'm working on a 64-bit machine. So, what is the best way for me to fix this?tnkx,Mark Top Pavel Posts: 276 Joined: Fri Dec 12, 2008 12:19 error failed to am Re: Registry mis-match Quote Postby Pavel » Fri May 25, 2012 3:43 pm Hello, you can either register EmailNotification 1.4, or update dependency information in tje "EmailSubscription\1.1\package.ini" file (replace "Dependency=EmailNotification 1.4" with Dependency=EmailNotification 1.5) and re-register EmailSubscription package.Pavel Top Pavel Posts: 276 Joined: Fri Dec 12, 2008 12:19 am Re: Registry mis-match Quote Postby Pavel » Mon May 28, 2012 8:26 am I repackaged the distribution with corrected dependency.
