I've tried going to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/163/fb1634cb.html, but nothing there works. It seems mostly to apply error failed to register url=http //+ 80/reportserver/ for endpoint 2 error=5 to FP10 and lower, anyway. Running the uninstaller twice and rebooting before you attempt the reinstall may

also help. Note that the uninstaller removes all the Flash plugins you have (except the one built into the Chrome browser). If you have any browsers other than Internet Explorer installed, you will need to get the non Active X version for it/them. TOGG, Nov 9, 2011 #2 Barc777 Thread Starter Joined: Nov 9, 2011 Messages: 7 OK, when I went to the link you specified, and checked the About FP page, it says I have 11,0,1,152 installed (even though Add/Remove says I still only have the plug-in for non-ActiveX). I went through the uninstallation steps, and verified that it was not installed. When I went to the download page and attempted to install it, I got a message about the registry and ActiveX. I went through the steps to change the Internet Options, and tried to install again afterward. No luck. And, just for the heck of it, I successfully downloaded & installed the plug-in for other browsers. Of course, that meant I had to run the uninstaller again... And, yes, I tried both as myself (I have admin rights), and as the Administrator. Neither worked. Barc777, Nov 14, 2011 #3 TOGG Joined: Apr 2, 2002 Messages: 5,749 Flash has been updated (yet again) to 11.1.102.55, although I don't think that would be the cause of your problem.

Why this is happening These issues can be caused by an incorrect file setting or a damaged file. If multiple errors are displayed and they specifically mention the ICWrapper.dll, https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-installation-flash-player-11-error-failed-to-register.1026170/ qbprefs.dll, and qbupdate.exe (among others), then the problem is probably caused by a damaged component of Microsoft Visual C++. This error can also occur if you are installing QuickBooks after upgrading your operating system (such as from Windows Vista to Windows 7) and your computer was not rebooted after the upgrade. How to fix it Unless you have one of the special cases https://community.intuit.com/articles/1021279-error-1904-2-failed-to-register-when-installing-quickbooks-desktop shown below, you will need to run the QBInstall tool: Click the Ignore button on the error message and allow the installation to complete. Do not open QuickBooks. Restart your computer. If the installation did not complete, then download and run the QBInstall Tool. After the tool completes and you reboot again, proceed to installing QuickBooks again. If the QBInstall Tool does not work, you can also run the Component Repair Tool. If neither of these resolve the issue, create a new Windows Admin User account and try to install on the new Admin User. Special Cases IMPORTANT: If you are installing QuickBooks 2015 Versions and have Bitdefender anti-virus you must add the c:\Program Files\Intuit (c:\Program Files(x86)\intuit on a 64 bit machine) to the exclusion list in Bitdefender.
