com Subject: [rhelv5-list] RHN CDN has a broken rhel-x86_64-server-supplementary-5 https://www.redhat.com/archives/rhelv5-list/2010-October/msg00018.html metadata file Date: Thu, 7 Oct 2010 16:19:32 http://serverfault.com/questions/188967/yum-update-returns-metadata-file-does-not-match-checksum -0500 (CDT) All day, whether I use a local satellite or go direct to xmlrpc.redhat.com, I've been getting: Error: failed to retrieve repodata/f09b7552138a491a3b14469c88a18c8ed3fdf674-primary.xml.gz from rhel-x86_64-server-supplementary-5 error was [Errno -1] Metadata file does error failed not match checksum I was able to update core packages by excluding the broken channel with: yum -y --disablerepo=rhel-x86_64-server-supplementary-5 update Another fix is to log on to RHN and turn off "Supports Location-Aware update access." The broken metadata file appears error failed to to be on 173.222.248.218. I have no confidence whatsoever in RedHat support, but if anyone on this list happens to be in a position to fix it, that'd be great. In any case, other list members might benefit from the workarounds. -- Rich Graves http://claimid.com/rcgraves Carleton.edu Sr UNIX and Security Admin Follow-Ups: Re: [rhelv5-list] RHN CDN has a broken rhel-x86_64-server-supplementary-5 metadata file From: Chris Adams Re: [rhelv5-list] RHN CDN has a broken rhel-x86_64-server-supplementary-5 metadata file From: Philip Durbin Re: [rhelv5-list] RHN CDN has a broken rhel-x86_64-server-supplementary-5 metadata file From: Rich Graves Re: [rhelv5-list] RHN CDN has a broken rhel-x86_64-server-supplementary-5 metadata file From: Rich Graves [Date Prev][Date Next] [Thread Prev][Thread Next] [Thread Index] [Date Index] [Author Index]
