So two additional drives are missing from each of the pdc and via controllers in the "dmsetup status" output Top pschaff Retired Moderator Posts: 18276 Joined: 2006/12/13 20:15:34 Location: Tidewater, Virginia, North America Contact: Contact pschaff Website [RESOLVED] device-mapper issue after upgrade from 5.5 to 5.6 Quote Postby pschaff » 2011/07/17 19:22:35 Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature. Please provide more information about your system by running "./getinfo.sh" as root and showing us the output file. After reviewing the output from the getinfo.sh script, I noticed that the partition type on two of my disks (sdc and sdd) is Linux "type 83" when they should be LVM "type 8e". I don't know how they would have been changed or if this could cause my issue, but I will investigate to see if I can change these safely with f
sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] Hi Jorick, This error is most often caused by multipath attempting to map http://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2014-September/027409.html a device which is already in use, such as if its mounted or mapped by an active LVM logical volume. If the blacklist in /etc/multipath.conf does not restrict multipath http://users.ovirt.narkive.com/pc1cuDwD/ovirt-users-ovirt-device-mapper-table-253-3-multipath-error-getting-device from mapping the device, then when it gets run during boot it will attempt to map it. Because the device is in use, this mapping will fail. Have error getting you tried the blacklisting procedure mentioned at comment 3 in the bug? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=675366#c3 ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jorick Astrego"
